Whenever you ride on a Metro bus, train, bike, or Metro Micro van, your ride is supported by hundreds of people –– drivers, mechanics, service attendants, custodians, security staff, call centers, mail clerks, and many other teams that you might not see on your ride but are essential to making your trip safe and comfortable.

As Customer Service Week winds down, we’re rounding out the week of celebrations with a spotlight on Alexander, a Metro Bus Operator whom riders and colleagues count on for his humor, compassion, and positive spirit that brightens everyone’s day. As he points out in the video below, being a successful bus operator requires a lot more than just driving. In that role, you’re also a counselor, a friendly ear, a security guard, and a first responder during emergencies. There’s never a dull moment on the job. “Every day is a new day,” Alexander says. “You always see something new.”

Learn more about Alexander’s perspective in the video below! And make sure to read about the other amazing staff members highlighted this past week here and here.

Has a Metro staff member ever gone above and beyond the call of duty to help you out? Help us recognize them by submitting a S.T.A.R. form (short for Special Thanks and Recognition). This program honors employees who consistently knock it out of the park when it comes to creating great experiences for riders. Send us the forms virtually at Metro.net/Star or via one of our Customer Care Centers. It’s fast and totally free.

Thanks for going Metro.
