It’s another great weekend to experience summer in LA. The FIFA World Cup celebrations head to the beach at Venice Beach for a quarter final celebration. If you love french fries, L.A. is hosting their first ever French Fry Festival this weekend at the Autry Museum. Plus, there many events filled with culture like the Mercado on Olvera Street and a Japanese hip-hop listening party in Little Tokyo. Metro can help you get to all these events. FIFA World Cup™ Events
Throughout the month of June, L.A. County will be buzzing with multiple World Cup fan and community events. We’ll highlight a few you go to this weekend. You can find the full list of World Cup fan and community events, here.

Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zone at Venice Beach
Celebrate the quarter-final weekend on the boardwalk at Venice Beach. There will be a block party with food, music, activations and so much more. There are also community activations at Downtown Santa Monica Station heading to the event.

Go Metro: Take the E Line to Downtown Santa Monica Station, then connect with Big Blue Bus Lines 1 or 2 and exit Main St/Rose Ave. Buses run every 10-20 minutes.

LA Dodgers host the Arizona Diamondbacks for a weekend series at Uniqlo Field
The Dodgers are hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks for a three-game series at Uniqlo Field in Elysian Park. Friday night is Black Heritage Night at Dodger Stadium. On Saturday, July 11, the first 40,000 fans will get a Son Hueng-min bobblehead. Sunday afternoon, fans can pick up a Kiké Hernandez Pitching bobblehead.

Insomniac presents Lost In Dreams

L.A. Night Market
A new night market is opening in Hollywood on Vine Street. The event is free and has free parking too.

Mercado Nights on Olvera Street
Mercado Night at El Pueblo de Los Ángeles invites the community to explore Olvera Street after hours, featuring food, live music, and family-friendly activities. The evening also includes activities like a community game of Lotería, where participants can win prizes while enjoying the cultural experience.

We are tracking a prolonged stretch of heat, and it’s only going to intensify heading into next week. High pressure parked over the region is keeping temperatures running 5 to 10 degrees above normal this weekend, with heat advisories already in effect for many areas away from the coast, including downtown Los Angeles. This is a moderate heat risk, meaning those sensitive to heat or working outdoors should take extra precautions.
Expect highs in the upper 80s to low 90s through the weekend. Temperatures will gradually ease a few degrees through Sunday as high pressure slowly drifts east. That said, don’t expect much relief, it will still feel very warm. Adding to the discomfort, humidity levels will begin to creep up late Saturday as monsoonal moisture flows into the region, making the heat feel even more oppressive. There is a 10 to 20% chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms, mainly over the interior mountains and deserts, each afternoon and evening through next week.
The bigger concern is what comes next. An Extreme Heat Watch is in effect beginning Tuesday through Thursday, when temperatures could surge into the 90s and triple digits for many valley and inland areas. The combination of dangerous heat and elevated humidity will make conditions especially grueling.
Please take the heat seriously. Drink plenty of water, avoid prolonged outdoor activity during the hottest hours of the day, check on elderly neighbors and family members, and never leave people or pets in a parked car. Cooling centers are available across the region if you need a place to get out of the heat.
