If you’ve ever attended a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, you probably know that while the experience can be magical, getting there (and getting back home!) can be a challenging. The gridlock is real, and parking is expensive … that is, when you can find a spot.
No one understands these frustrations better than the hardworking staff at the Hollywood Bowl. That’s why, beginning this season, we’re making it easier for you to get the make the most of your time at the storied LA landmark.
We’re pleased to announce that we’ve partnered with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association to launch its first-ever integrated ticketing pilot program.
What does that mean? Glad you asked. Starting today, just in time for the summer concert season, you’ll be able to purchase a GoMetro Round-Trip Pass for $3.50, valid on all our buses and trains. When you buy your concert tickets, you’ll be able to purchase Metro transit passes in the same transaction, resulting in an event ticket and a transit pass. All you need to do is scan the digital barcode on your phone against the TAP validator. Voila!
Don’t forget that you’ll also be able ride the Hollywood Bowl shuttle for FREE from the B Line at Hollywood/Highland station from two and a half hours before showtime and beginning 20 minutes after concerts end.

How difficult would it be to add a Station at the Bowl? There certainly is enough room. After all, the Bus Island used to be the Pacific Electric Right of Way before they entered and exited the 101 Hollywood Freeway.
A northern extension of the Crenshaw – LAX metro rail line (the K line) is currently being studied. There are three options under study. All three options include the possibility of a north terminus station at the Hollywood Bowl, rather than the north terminus being built at the Hollywood – Highland (B line) subway station. Construction funding is projected to be available, but it is not assured. The projected opening date of the K line northern extension is 2047. Construction of metro rail projects tend to complete one to five years after the projected date, so at best if there will be a Hollywood Bowl metro rail station on the K line, expect a 2048 to 2052 opening.
There is a certain difficulty to adding a metro rail station at the Hollywood Bowl. Currently, three options for extension of the K line metro rail (aka Crenshaw – LAX line) are under study, and all include a possible north terminus at the Hollywood Bowl, rather than the north terminus being at the Hollywood – Highland subway station of the B line. Funding is projected, but not assured. The projected opening date of the K line northern extension is 2047, however, long term opening projections by LA Metro of construction openings are notoriously inaccurate and are usually one to five years incorrect. So if a K line extension to the Hollywood Bowl will occur, expect a year 2048 to 2052 opening.
