The final weekend in May brings plenty of reasons to get out and explore. Toyotafest rolls into Long Beach with 30 years of Toyota and Lexus history at Marina Green Park, the L.A. Zoo opens after dark for a family puzzle adventure and the L.A. County Fair wraps up with final weekend at Pomona. Here’s what’s happening.

La Verne/Fairplex Station: Connect with Foothill Transit bus 67 Fair Flyer. The 67 Fair Flyer is a shuttle providing pick-up and drop-off service to Fairplex gates beginning 10:30a.m. and will run Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Memorial Day.
Pomona North: Connect with Foothill Transit bus 197. On Friday, special service has been added for 9, 10 and 11 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day, Line 197 added special service for 8, 9, 10, 11 p.m. hours.
Extra Bonus: Most Metro park-and-ride lots are free on weekends and $3 on weekdays. Find your nearest option at metro.net/parking.
LA Dodgers host Philadelphia Phillies for weekend home series at Dodger Stadium
The Los Angeles Dodgers open will play three game series against the Philadelphia Phillies with back-to-back games at Dodger Stadium in Elysian Park.

Kinky brings Mexican electronic rock to Pacific Electric in Chinatown this Friday
Monterrey-born electronic rock outfit Kinky takes the stage at Pacific Electric, Chinatown’s newest live music venue, Friday night. It’s the kind of show that makes the trip to Chinatown worth every minute.

Sepultura brings their final North American tour to The Wiltern in Mid-Wilshire

The Toyota Owners and Restorers Club rolls into Long Beach Saturday for the 30th annual All Toyotafest at Marina Green Park. Every generation of Toyota and Lexus is represented, making this one of the longest-running automotive celebrations on the West Coast.

The LA Zoo opens its gates after dark Saturday for Zoo Quest: Amazing Apes, a family-friendly puzzle adventure that takes players of all ages on a discovery-driven journey through the world of apes and primates. Think escape room energy, zoo setting.

Los Angeles County High School of the Arts marks its 40th anniversary Saturday night at the Greek Theatre with a star-studded benefit concert featuring alumni and friends of the school. Fitz and the Tantrums, Ozomatli, Jon B. and Gerald Clayton headline an evening that doubles as a fundraiser for the next generation of LA artists.

Metro Bike wraps up Bike Month Saturday with a beginner-friendly community ride along the Rail-to-Rail path through South Los Angeles. The route is designed for all ages and skill levels, with a midway stop for a community picnic — a chance to rest, refuel and connect before finishing the ride.

Metro Art and Architecture Tour offer free guided look inside iconic Union Station
Metro Art hosts free 90-minute guided tours of Union Station this weekend, offering insights into the station’s artworks, artists and art-making processes while introducing visitors to the Metro system. Please meet at the information kiosk inside the historic station. The active tour moves throughout the building with elevators and escalators available.

After a cool and gray stretch, Southern California is closing out May on a high note. A ridge of high pressure builds overhead this weekend, bringing plenty of sunshine and a very welcome warming trend.
Friday kicks off the warm-up with mostly clear skies and highs in the low 70s for most areas. Some coastal fog and low clouds are possible in the mornings this weekend, but coverage will diminish each day as the marine layer loses its grip. Saturday and Sunday are the pick of the weekend, with coastal areas climbing into the mid to upper 70s and valley and interior locations reaching the 80s to lower 90s, running 5 to 10 degrees above normal for late May.
Overall, this is a fantastic way to wrap up May. Get outside and enjoy it.
