A new month brings a fresh weekend of events across LA. From local sports to a jazzy Metro Art event at Union Station, there’s something for everyone this weekend. Metro can get you there without burning gas or dealing with the parking headache. Here’s what’s happening.

PaleyFest returns to Dolby Theater in Hollywood with Emily in Paris, Scrubs and more
PaleyFest takes over the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood for a three-night celebration of television’s biggest shows. Friday, April 10, spotlights the cast of Emily in Paris, Saturday, April 11 features an afternoon Scrubs presentation followed by an evening preview of Your Friends & Neighbors, and Sunday April 12 closes the festival with a celebration of The Pitt.

Academy Museum hosts Bong Joon Ho for weekend screenings of Parasite and Mickey 17 in Mid-Wilshire
Acclaimed director Bong Joon Ho joins the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures this weekend for screenings of two of his films. Zodiac screens Saturday, April 11 and Mickey 17 plays Sunday, April 12, with both events tied to the museum’s current exhibition Director’s Inspiration: Bong Joon Ho. Hosted by KJazz DJ José Rizo, the evening features New Orleans legend Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen headlining, with supporting sets from Emi Secrest and Merges.

Spring is showing up in full force this weekend. A storm system is moving into Southern California, bringing cooler temperatures, clouds and the best rain chance the region has seen in weeks. Highs both Saturday and Sunday will only reach the low to mid-60s, running 4 to 10 degrees below normal for this time of year.
Friday stays mostly dry through the daytime hours with temperatures in the 60s, but shower chances increase after sunset as the first wave of the system moves in overnight. Saturday brings a mix of sun and clouds, but another and stronger storm system sweeps into the area by Saturday night, bringing the heaviest rain of the weekend. This system is cold, unstable and could even produce some thunderstorms, so don’t be surprised if you hear some rumbles.
Sunday starts off gloomy with showers lingering into the morning before the system exits and skies gradually clear through the afternoon. On average, this storm is expected to drop around a half inch of rain across the metro area, though totals will vary. Some neighborhoods could see as little as a quarter inch, while others, especially under any thunderstorm, could pick up an inch or more. Mountain areas above 6,000 feet could see several inches of snow.
The good news? The new week starts fresh. Monday and Tuesday both look dry and sunny, with temperatures slowly rebounding each day.
