Summer is hitting its stride, and this weekend delivers across the board. KCRW Summer Nights takes over Union Station Saturday night, KCON LA brings K-pop culture to the Convention Center and Karol G performs three nights at SoFi Stadium. Metro can get you to all of it. Here’s what’s happening.
All Weekend
LA Dodgers host the Milwaukee Brewers for a weekend series with bobbleheads and Kids Run the Bases at Uniqlo Field.
The Dodgers welcome the Milwaukee Brewers for a home series at Uniqlo Field in Elysian Park. Friday brings a Clayton Kershaw bobblehead giveaway, Saturday honors Reggie Smith with a Legends of Dodgers Baseball bobblehead, and Sunday closes with Kids Run the Bases Day.

KCON 2026 takes over the LA Convention Center
KCON LA returns to the LA Convention Center for three days of K-pop performances, Korean beauty, food, fashion, and interactive fan engagements. KCON is one of the biggest Korean cultural festivals in the world.

The 84th annual Nisei Week launches Saturday at Weller Court in Little Tokyo with JX Matsuri, a carnival-style community celebration of Japanese entertainment, food brands and pop culture. The festivities run through Sunday, August 23, with a grand parade on Sunday, August 16.

Colombian superstar Karol G brings her Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour to SoFi Stadium for a three-night run this weekend. One of the biggest Latin music acts in the world right now.

Saturday, August 15
MetroArt and KCRW Summer Nights transform Union Station into a free dance party this Saturday.
Head on over to LA’s historic Union Station for a free, all-ages KCRW Summer Nights experience with Metro Art. Catch the hypnotic grooves of RIO KOSTA, plus sets from KCRW DJs J.Rocc and LUXXURY. Dance in this storied LA landmark, check out the station’s multiple art exhibitions, and grab some refreshments as you soak in a night of music and movement in the heart of DTLA.

Metro Bike Share 10th Year Birthday Ride
Celebrate 10 years of Metro Bike Share with us on Saturday, as we kick off the first day of our two-day anniversary community ride!
On Saturday, August 15, the event takes riders through North Hollywood, Hollywood, and Mid-Wilshire, showcasing the neighborhoods that have helped shape a decade of Metro Bike Share.

Sunday, August 16
Angel City FC Santa Monica Metro Fan Ride rolls to BMO Stadium with a DJ, giveaways and good energy.
Sunday’s Angel City FC matchday starts early and starts fun. Join fellow ACFC fans at Downtown Santa Monica Station for an exclusive fan train to MBO Stadium, complete with a live DJ, giveaways and photo ops on the platform before the train even rolls out. The train leaves at 4 p.m.
When: Arrive by 2:45 p.m.; train departs at 4 p.m. Where: Downtown Santa Monica Station and then take the train to Expo Park/USC Station for the game. Admission: RSVP for event only,
Go Metro: Take the E Line to Downtown Santa Monica Station for the fan event and Expo Park/USC Station for the game at BMO Stadium.

After weeks of relentless heat, Southern California is catching a well-deserved break this weekend. A trough of low pressure and strong onshore flow have knocked temperatures down significantly, ending what had been a very long stretch of above-normal heat. Lower humidity adds to the relief — this weekend should feel noticeably more comfortable than recent weeks.
Friday features a deep marine layer pushing well into the valleys, keeping skies cloudy through the late morning with some patchy drizzle possible along the coast. Highs Friday will land in the lower 80s for most inland areas — still a touch above normal for mid-August but nothing like what the region has endured recently.
Saturday sees a couple of degrees of warming with slightly less marine layer coverage as skies clear a bit faster. Sunday turns warmer still, with highs ticking up toward the upper 80s under mostly sunny skies.
The comfortable stretch doesn’t last long, unfortunately. High pressure begins building back in next week, with heights peaking Tuesday and Wednesday.
