July is wrapping up, and August arrives this weekend with the heat firmly in place. HARD Summer takes over Hollywood Park in Inglewood, the Dodgers host the Boston Red Sox at Uniqlo Field, and country night closes out the Zoo After Dark series in Griffith Park. C LINE Station Closures
On Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1, C Line trains will only operate between Norwalk and Crenshaw stations due to construction. Hawthrone/Lennox and Aviation/Imperial stations will be closed. Bus shuttles will provide service to Crenshaw, Hawthorne/Lennox, Aviation/Imperial, Aviation/Century, and LAX/Metro Transit Center stations. K Line service will not be affected.

HARD Summer brings Kali Uchis, DJ Snake and Charlotte De Witte to Hollywood Park in Inglewood
HARD Summer takes over Hollywood Park this Saturday and Sunday with one of the summer’s biggest electronic music lineups: Kali Uchis, DJ Snake, Charlotte De Witte, Maceo Plex, Shygirl, and VTSS are among the headliners across two full days of music at the Inglewood venue.

Go Metro (Saturday, August 1): Take the C or K Line to LAX/MTC (Bus Bay 8) or Crenshaw Station (Bus Bay 3) and hop on the free bus shuttle to Hollywood Park.
Go Metro (Sunday, August 2): Take the C or K Line to LAX/MTC and hop on the free bus shuttle to Hollywood Park.
Bus shuttles will start at 1:30 p.m. and run for 90 minutes after the festival ends.
LA Dodgers host the Boston Red Sox for a weekend series at Uniqlo Field
The Dodgers go up against the Boston Red Sox in a weekend series at home beginning July 31. Kyle Tucker bobbleheads are the giveaway for Friday night’s game, and the Saturday night game will include a drone show at Dodger Stadium. The series concludes on Sunday, August 2.

Collect-a-Con brings trading cards, anime collectibles and Soulja Boy to the LA Convention Center
Whether you’re hunting for a vintage baseball card or a rare Pokémon, Collect-a-Con at the Los Angeles Convention Center has you covered. The weekend-long gathering features trading cards spanning dozens of fandoms alongside anime and pop culture collectibles. Soulja Boy performs live Saturday, August 1, with special guests appearing throughout the weekend.

Jazz at LACMA: Melissa Morgan

L.A. Zoo After Dark: Country Night closes the series with line dancing and live music in Griffith Park
The Zoo After Dark series goes out with a boot-stomping finale Saturday evening at the L.A. Zoo. Pulp Vixen plays live while country line dancing fills the floor for one last warm-weather night under the stars in Griffith Park.

4th Annual Afro-Latino Culture Fest at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes
The Afro-Latino Culture Fest returns to LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes in downtown Los Angeles for its fourth year, celebrating the intersection of Afro and Latino culture with live music, food, art and open-air community vibes. Free and open to all.

KCRW Summer Nights at CAAM brings DJ Novena Carmel and Black House Radio to Exposition Park
KCRW Summer Nights heads to the California African American Museum Saturday evening for a free, all-ages dance party. KCRW DJ Novena Carmel and guest DJ Michael Donte of Black House Radio keep the floor moving all night.

The weekend is hot and sunny. Temperatures will peak into the 90s Friday through Sunday. If you’re heading to the beach, please be careful in the water since wave heights will be high. Surf at some beaches could reach between 4 and 8 feet. After Sunday, temperatures will start to cool off a bit. However, it will still be warm early next week. Stay cool and hydrated this weekend.
