Are you passionate about transit equity? Metro’s San Gabriel Valley and Westside Central Service Councils will hold respective public hearings on two soon-to-be-completed transit projects –– the A Line Extension to Pomona and the D Line Extension to Westwood/VA Hospital.
Specifically, they’ll be focusing on both projects’ Title VI Analyses of Service Plans. What is that, exactly? Excellent question!
Title VI is a federal law enacted as part of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It is designed to ensure equal access to all programs and activities that receive federal funding. The service plans that will be discussed concern service frequency and the fares that will be charged once the lines open for service. These Title VI analyses must be adopted by the Metro Board of Directors. Please note, we don’t yet have official opening dates for either of these projects, but both are forecast to open this year.

Is there any plan to reroute the 492 and 291 foothill buses? Both make their stops half a mile from the new Pomona terminus and are the only bus connections to/from Pomona North. These buses go to the Downtown Pomona, Claremont and Montclair stations/transit centers – which is where the ridership is.
The buses also need to reconsider their schedule to include more timed transfers and increased frequencies.
Metro is not the one to ask that question to
