On Friday, September 5, Metro Art is co-presenting a special edition of Jazz at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), part of a free concert series at the museum. The concert features acclaimed drummer Kyle Poole.
The public is invited to stop by the Metro Art table at the event to meet artist Susan Silton, one of 27 artists/artist teams creating site specific, integrated artwork for the D Line Subway Extension Project, including the future Wilshire/Fairfax Station that is just steps from the museum.
The Metro Art x LACMA partnership is the first half of a jazz exchange between Metro Art and LACMA. The second concert – at Union Station – will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
About the Artists
Kyle Poole
Los Angeles native Kyle Poole continues to impress wherever his drums take him next. Kyle has performed in the most esteemed national jazz clubs, notably Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola and SMOKE Jazz Club, culminating in a weekly residency at Small’s Jazz Club lasting nearly three years. One of Poole’s chief missions is to expand jazz’s audience by incorporating all dance styles of music, reaching back to ragtime and bebop, while forging ahead all the way to funk, hip-hop, and beyond. With the constant fluctuation of genre, rhythm, and harmony, Poole connects these musical dots in a uniquely improvised fashion, while delighting audiences worldwide.
Susan Silton
Susan Silton is a visual artist whose practice engages with photography, video, installation, performance, artist’s books, sound and language. Silton’s work takes form in performative and participation-based projects, photography, video, installation, text/audio works, and print-based projects, and presents in diverse contexts such as public sites, social network platforms, and traditional galleries and institutions. Her work has been presented at numerous national and international venues that include the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art; the Hammer Museum and more. Susan Silton is one of the 27 artists/artist teams creating site specific, integrated artwork for the D Line Subway Extension Project.
