Black Cowboys: An American Story
The Autry Museum of the American West is showcasing the history and culture of Black cowboys, including a special section on the Black cowboy experience here in California. Get lost in this multifaceted, interdisciplinary exhibition that highlights the contributions of Black men and women to the equestrian cultures of the American West.

Dance DTLA at the Music Center: Reggaeton
The Music Center in downtown L.A. is hosting a free dance party series all summer, with this week’s DJ turning the fader in all the right directions for a Latin-flavored set of reggaeton beats. Bounce with your best moves or even learn new ones at the beginner-friendly dance lesson.

Portland Timbers versus LAFC Soccer
Come out and watch the Black and Gold play a longtime rival to the north, the Portland Timbers, at BMO Stadium this Friday. We have the edge, but it’s bound to be an exciting match. Don’t miss it!

Celebrando the Eastside Sound, A Community Bike Ride
This Saturday, roll up to LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes to join a bike ride inspired by the gallery’s latest exhibition, “A Great Day in East L.A.: Celebrando the Eastside Sound.” The 7-mile ride will set out to points of musical significance around Boyle Heights and East L.A., where the exhibition’s co-curators will share stories about the role of local music on life and culture in these communities.

Carolina Ascent FC versus Angel City FC Soccer
Angel City FC will play a friendly match against Carolina Ascent FC this Saturday at 5 p.m. – the first-ever meeting between the two clubs. This part of Angel City’s “Battle of the Clubs” night.

My Chemical Romance in Concert
One of the most influential bands from the emo rock scene, My Chemical Romance will perform the entire track list from their acclaimed 2006 album “The Black Parade.” The fandom is anticipating the type of epic show the band is known for in this celebration of the album’s 20th anniversary. Good news: Metro’s Dodger Stadium Express will roll out free service for this concert – starting two hours before show time – to get you to the stadium and back.

Vans Warped Tour
The Warped Tour will take over Long Beach Shoreline Waterfront this weekend with a high-energy musical lineup of artists – find all details in this previous Source post. But that’s not all! Come for the music, and stay for the 90s-inspired showcases – think extreme sports competitions, skateboarding stunts and art instillations.
Saturday and Sunday, doors open at 11 a.m.
Go Metro: Take the A Line to 1st Street or Downtown Long Beach Station, and it’s a short, half-mile distance to the waterfront.
