If you love live music, it’s your lucky weekend! From free outdoor concerts to family-friendly festivals with live entertainment and carnival rides, wherever you plan to go, Metro can get you there! Keep reading for details.

All Weekend

Fiesta La Ballona
Culver City’s annual Fiesta La Ballona will be bringing tons of entertainment and fun for all ages this weekend. There will be carnival rides for the thrill-seekers, splashy activities at the pool, delicious bites from the food vendors, and a beer and wine garden for the 21 and over crowd. The must-see live entertainment will range from traditional Polynesian dance and Mexican ballet folklorico to country, jazz and R&B music performances – and everything in between!
Friday 4:30 to 10 p.m., Saturday 12 to 10 p.m., Sunday 12 to 8 p.m. 
Go Metro: Take Line 33 to Venice/Overland, and it’s about a 15-minute walk to the park.

Grand Performances 
Did you know Little Tokyo was temporarily renamed Bronzeville during World War II? This Friday, Dave Iwataki and the Japanese American National Museum present J-Town/Bronzeville Suite, a blend of jazz, traditional Japanese music and dance that brings a little-known chapter of L.A. history to life. Followed by Saturday’s close out of this summer’s Grand Performances series – a merengue dance party fueled by the high-energy sounds of legendary band Oro Solido. 
Friday 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday 6 to 10 p.m. FREE 
Go Metro: Take the B or D Line to Pershing Square Station and exit at 4th St, or take the A or E Line to Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill Station and it’s about a 5-minute walk along Grand Av to CalPlaza.  

LACMA Free Concerts  
Coming right up – two nights of free outdoor concerts at the L.A. County Museum of Art! On Friday, Jazz at LACMA will welcome renowned jazz trumpeter, Gilbert Castellanos, for an evening to remember. And, on Saturday night as part of the Latin Sounds series, Natal will share his special brand of Afro-Uruguayan Candombe jazz fusion to get you in the mood to groove.  
Friday 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday 5 to 7 p.m. FREE

Saturday, August 23

Levitt Pavilion Summer Concert Series 
This Saturday night, pull up to Levitt Pavilion for an evening of eclectic rock music, Latin beats and lots of dancing with the trailblazing Mexican group Kinky and L.A.’s own Los Abandoned!   
7 to 10 p.m. FREE  
Go Metro: Take the B or D Line to MacArthur Park/Westlake Station, Line 2 along Alvarado St or Line 20/720 along Wilshire Bl 

Sunday, August 24

DTLA Proud Festival  
In its 10^th year, the downtown L.A. LGBTQ Pride celebration will take place at the Placita Olvera and LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes this Sunday. DTLA Proud kicks off with family-friendly fun at the iconic gazebo. Then, the festival continues with two more events leading into the night: a block party with live stage performances, DJs, beverage bars and a marketplace; as well as the Summertramp urban oasis day club – think unicorn floaties and inflatable pools (both events are for ages 21+).   
12 to 10 p.m. 
Go Metro: Take the A, B or D Line to Union Station.
