March is feeling more like summer across Los Angeles, and this weekend brings the heat — literally. Temperatures are expected to run warm, so plan accordingly before heading out.
The weekend lineup is packed, from the Ivy Station Night Market to ArtNight Pasadena, and Metro can get you there without the parking headache. Here’s what’s happening.

Clippers double header brings two nights of NBA action to Intuit Dome in Inglewood
The Los Angeles Clippers host back-to-back home games this weekend at Intuit Dome. Friday’s game against the Chicago Bulls includes a mini hoops and balls giveaway, while Saturday’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings celebrates Noche de la Familia. Both games tip off at 7:30 p.m.

Night Dive at the Aquarium of the Pacific brings Hollywood glamour to Long Beach
The Aquarium of the Pacific transforms into an adults-only nightlife destination for Night Dive, an after-dark celebration of all things Hollywood. Expect DJs spinning throughout the galleries, a live band performing on the Honda Blue Cavern stage, art installations and cash bars across the venue.

ArtNight Pasadena returns Friday evening with free admission and special activations across 19 of the city’s top arts and culture institutions. Highlights include Pasadena City Hall, Gamble House, USC Pacific Asia Museum and the Armory Center for the Arts.

The Hammer Museum and Metro Art team up Saturday for a free public Art Lab event spotlighting commissioned artists iris yirei hu, Yunhee Min, Sandow Birk, Victoria Fu and Matt Rich. Visitors can explore each artist’s creative process through hands-on art-making activities tied to their site-specific commissions for the upcoming D Line Extension stations serving UCLA, the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center and surrounding neighborhoods.

More than 25 vendors, food trucks, baking demos and a beer garden fill the grounds, while a competitive pie-baking contest puts LA’s best home bakers in front of a panel of the city’s top chefs and food writers. Guests can view the competition entries and vote for winners across multiple visual categories.

Southern California is about to experience a remarkable stretch of summer-like heat — in the middle of winter. Temperatures this week could run 15 to 25 degrees above normal, with highs pushing into the upper 90s and possibly triple digits in the hottest spots. Heat advisories are already in effect, and more watches and warnings are likely as the weekend unfolds.
Some coastal areas may see slight relief on Friday as a weak sea breeze tries to push inland, but temperatures will remain dangerously hot away from the coast. Overnight lows will also stay unusually warm, giving the body little chance to cool down after a hot day.
The heat doesn’t stop there. High pressure builds again heading into next week, with the worst of it expected Tuesday and Wednesday. Try to get outdoor activities done early in the morning or after sunset, stay hydrated, and never leave people or pets in a parked car.
