Chinatown Firecracker Run and Paw’er Walk
The Los Angeles Chinatown Firecracker Run brings together runners, cyclists and four-legged friends for a weekend of racing and celebration. Saturday features the 20- or 50-mile bike ride and the Paw’er Dog Walk for pups and their owners. Sunday brings the 5K/10K run walk and the Kiddie Run for young racers. Both days kick off with traditional lion dancers and an explosive 100,000 firecrackers lighting up Chinatown.
Whether you’re racing for a personal best or just want to soak up the festive atmosphere, this is a Chinatown tradition you don’t want to miss. Registration required to participate or watch all the action for free. Saturday-Sunday.

3rd Annual Lantern Paw Festival
Lantern Paw returns to Blossom Plaza for its third year in partnership with Firecracker LA. Celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse, the dog-friendly festival features a curated market of small pet brands, custom pet portraits, bookable photography sessions, playful photo moments, and time to explore with your dog.

3rd Annual Love My Community Cleanup & Sustainability Resource Fair
Stop by the 3rd Annual Love My Community Fair this Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Metro Bike Share will greet you with fun promo items and educational materials on how to start a Metro Bike Share pass. It’s a convenient way to get around LA without worrying about parking, now that’s exciting!
Go Metro: Take B/D Line to Westlake/MacArthur Park Station and walk to the park.
Amor Prohibido: A Selena Quintanilla Market at The Pike Outlets
Anything for Selenas! Long Beach brings Amor Prohibido energy to The Pike Outlets with a full street closure market celebrating the Queen of Tejano herself. Dance to live music, create Selena-inspired canvas art, enter giveaways, enjoy free family gaming and soak up the Selena love all day long. LA Kings vs Calgary Flames
The LA Kings end February with a Saturday afternoon game against the Calgary Flames and a Filipino Heritage event at Crypto.com Arena. 4 p.m.
Go Metro: Take the A, E or J Line to Pico Station, and it’s about a five-minute walk to the L.A. Convention Center.
Sunday, March 1
LA Lakers vs Sacramento Kings
The Lakers start the month at home when go head-to-head against the Sacramento Kings at Crypto.com Arena on Sunday. Tipoff is at 6:30 p.m.
Go Metro: Take the A, E or J Line to Pico Station, and it’s about a five-minute walk to Crypto.com Arena.
LA Clippers vs New Orleans Pelicans
Catch the Clippers on Sunday for a game against New Orleans Pelicans. It’s Chuck the Condor’s birthday too and the team is celebrating with Kid’s Night at Intuit Dome. 6 p.m.
Go Metro: Connect to a free bus shuttle at Hawthorne/Lennox Station (C Line), Downtown Inglewood Station (K Line) or LAX/Metro Transit Center (C/K lines). The shuttle runs 12-15 minutes to the arena. Shuttles run at 20-minute intervals two hours before the game and at 10-minute intervals for one hour after it ends.

Southern California is in for a splendid stretch of weather heading into the weekend.
Friday will be the warmest day, with highs soaring into the upper 80s and even low 90s in some valley areas. Sunny skies and light offshore breezes will make it feel more like spring than February.
That warm pattern continues into Saturday, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures still running 10 to 15 degrees above normal. Coastal areas may see some morning low clouds, but the afternoon will be bright and warm.
By Sunday, temperatures begin to dip back into the 70s as onshore flow returns. Expect partly cloudy skies with some morning clouds along the coast before clearing in the afternoon.
The weather stays dry through the weekend, but cooler conditions are expected early next week.
