USC Football

USC football hosts Northwestern on Friday at the Coliseum. The Trojans are so far perfect at home this season. 6-9 p.m.

Go Metro: Take the E Line and exit Expo Park/USC or take the J Line bus to 37th St/USC. Tips for your match day trip. 

Shark Lagoon Nights

Spend your Friday night with the sharks at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. Get an opportunity to get up close and personal with the ocean’s ultimate predators. Touch small sharks and hang out with rays and the larger sharks in the Aquarium’s Shark Lagoon. Reservations are recommended. 6-9 p.m. FREE.

Go Metro: Take the A Line to Downtown Long Beach Station and it’s about a 15-minute walk to the aquarium.

The Aquarium of the Pacific

Somos NELA Night Market

Somos NELA hosts its weekly family-friendly night market in Northeast L.A. on Friday, featuring local vendors, handmade gifts, food, drinks, crafts and music. The event is located just across the LA River in Elysian Valley (Frogtown) at Clockshop on 2860 Clearwater St. 6-10 p.m. FREE.

Go Metro: Take Bus Line 92 to Glendale/Farwell and it’s about 15-minute walk.

All Weekend

Anime Pasadena

Anime fans will flock to the Pasadena Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday for Anime Pasadena, a family-friendly celebration bringing together anime lovers and pop culture enthusiasts. Come dressed as your favorite character from a movie, comic book, or video game as you enjoy over 200 vendors, an anime lounge, video premieres, cosplay fashion shows, cosplay contests, live music, photo meetups, anime and cosplay panels, and giveaways. Kids 12 and under get in free, with adult present. More info here. November 8 (10-7 p.m.) / November 9 (10-6 p.m.)

Go Metro: Take the A Line to Del Mar Station, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the Pasadena Convention Center.

Saturday, November 8

UCLA Football

UCLA football hosts Nebraska on Saturday at the Rose Bowl. 12-3 p.m.

Go Metro: Take the A Line to Memorial Park Station and walk a few blocks to hop on the shuttle to the Rose Bowl. Find more information, including boarding locations and game day tips. 

LA Clippers

LA Clippers hosts Phoenix Suns on Saturday at the Intuit Dome. 7:30-10:30 p.m.Go Metro: Connect to a free bus shuttle at Hawthorne/Lennox Station (C Line), Downtown Inglewood Station (K Line) or LAX/Metro Transit Center (C/K Lines). Note that boarding at Hawthorne/Lennox Station will be on Hawthorne Bl heading southbound (opposite side of SoFi shuttle boarding location). The shuttles will start running at 20-minute intervals two hours before each game begins and at 10-minute intervals for one hour after each game ends. 

Metro Art Presents: LAte Night Train of Thought

Join Metro Art, Zócalo Public Square, and Grand Performances for LAte Night Train of Thought on Saturday night. Enjoy an evening of celebrating L.A.’s vibrant arts scene through music comedy and poetry. Guests can enjoy complimentary sweets from Little Tokyo’s Fugetsu-Do Confectionery (while supplies last) and bites from the Kogi BBQ food truck. This all-ages event is free and open to the public, no tickets required, seating is first-come, first-served. RSVP to learn more, and the first 40 guests who present their TAP cards at the Metro Art info table will receive a free Metro Art publication and Union Station swag bag! 7-10 p.m. FREE.

Battleship IOWA this Veterans Day Weekend

Veterans, families, and football fans are invited to gather, enjoy, and show appreciation for those who’ve served while cheering on your favorite team from the ship’s historic fantail. 12:30-4:30 p.m. FREE.

Go Metro: Take J Line to Harbor Beacon J Line Park & Ride, it’s about 15-minute walk to the Battlship IOWA.

Avatar The Last Airbender in Concert: The 20th Anniversary Tour

Celebrate and relive 20 years of Avatar: The Last Airbender with this unique concert experience at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The concert combines live orchestral performances with a two-hour visual journey through fan-favorite moments from the animated series, all shown on a full-size cinema screen.

Go Metro: Take the B Line to Hollywood/Highland Station or take bus line 217 to Hollywood/Highland. It’s a short walk to Dolby Theater.

LA Chargers Football

In a potential preview of the AFC Playoffs, the Chargers host the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday evening at SoFi Stadium 5:20-8:20 p.m.

Go Metro: The free SoFi Stadium shuttle connects fans to the action from the LAX/Metro Transit Center. Take the Metro C or K Line – or other local bus lines such as Big Blue Bus Line 3 and Culver Citybus Line 6 – to the LAX/Metro Transit Center and hop aboard the shuttle at bus bay 8. Go Metro Forecast

High pressure is building over Southern California, bringing sunny skies and warmer temperatures through the weekend.

Friday through Sunday: Expect clear conditions with temperatures climbing each day. By Saturday, coastal areas will see highs in the low to mid-70s, while inland valleys reach the lower to mid-80s, about 3 to 6 degrees above normal for early November.

The marine layer will return to the coast Sunday morning but will burn off, bringing sunny skies. Warm temperatures in the 80s are expected.

Next week: An unsettled weather pattern is forecast with a good chance of rain, especially mid to late week.
