Friday, December 6

Free First Friday at Geffen Contemporary 
MOCA’s Geffen Contemporary in Little Tokyo is offering a free chance to check out the work of Icelandic–Danish artist Olafur Eliasson. The exhibition features a series of site-specific installations and a dazzling array of sensory experiences that explore light, color and architecture. Friday’s event also includes dance artist QWENGA.

First Friday in Chinatown  
Chinatown’s First Fridays close out the year with two gatherings of fun and amazing food —only about two blocks apart. Enjoy DJ-spun music, extended hours at art galleries and a pop-up market at Chung King Road courtyard (6 to 10 p.m.). Looking for a great bite to eat? Hit up the Damnoen Saduak Thai Night Market at Far East Plaza (5 to 11 p.m.) for vendors cooking up mouth-watering treats.

Saturday, December 7

Holiday Movie Night at Ivy Station 
Culver City’s Ivy Station will host a Holiday Movie Night screening of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, plus a chance to get your picture taken with the Grinch himself. Bring a blanket and snag a spot on the lawn, snap a festive photo at the selfie station and snack on complimentary popcorn.  
Photos with the Grinch start at 4:30 p.m.; movie begins at 5:30 p.m. FREE  
Go Metro: Take the E Line to Culver City Station 

L.A. Kings Hockey 
The Kings continue to exceed expectations. On Saturday night, they get a good test with the Central Division-leading Minnesota Wild coming to town. 
Go Metro: Take the A or E Line to Pico Station, which is a one-block walk from Crypto.com Arena in downtown L.A. The Metro J Line bus, as well as other local bus routes, also stop near the arena.

PST ART Weekend: Downtown LA HUB Experience 
The Getty wraps its ambitious slate of PST ART: When Art & Science Collide programs and events with an immersive art weekend in DTLA. Don’t miss Street Fest, a smorgasbord of delicacies from Asian street food vendors brought together by MAMA’s Night Market, workshops from outdoor community USAL Project and DJ-spun tunes programmed by NTS Radio.

Sunday, December 8

CicLAvia – The Valley  
If you haven’t had a chance this year to bike, run, walk or skate in CicLAvia, the last event of 2024 comes to the San Fernando Valley this Sunday. Stretching for five miles on Sherman Way from Shoup Avenue to Lindly Avenue, the car-free route will feature activity hubs and plenty of local gems to explore along the way.  
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. FREE 
Go Metro: Take the G Line to Sherman Way Station 

L.A. Clippers Basketball 
Sunday is a busy day in Inglewood with the Rams playing at 1:25 p.m. and the Clippers taking on the Houston Rockets at 6 p.m. at the Intuit Dome.  
Go Metro to Intuit Dome for L.A. Clippers home games by connecting to a free bus shuttle at Hawthorne/Lennox Station (C Line) or Downtown Inglewood Station (K Line). Note that boarding at Hawthorne/Lennox Station will be on Hawthorne Bl heading southbound (opposite side of SoFi shuttle boarding location). The shuttles will start running at 20-minute intervals two hours before each game begins and at 10-minute intervals for one hour after each game ends. Bus shuttle service is only available for L.A. Clippers home games. 

Other options for all home games include Metro Bus Lines 117 (Century Boulevard) or 212 (La Brea Av/Prairie Av) or Torrance Transit Line 10, with stops adjacent to the Intuit Dome. Please keep in mind the C and K Lines were reconfigured in November — the C Line now runs between Norwalk and the new Aviation/Century Station. The K Line is temporarily running in two segments: between Redondo and Aviation Century and between Westchester/Veterans and Expo/Crenshaw. Transfer between the C and K Lines at Aviation/Century. 

L.A. Lakers Basketball 
The Lakers return home with a Sunday evening game against the struggling Portland Trailblazers. 
Go Metro: Take the A or E Line to Pico Station, which is a one-block walk from Crypto.com Arena in downtown L.A. The Metro J Line bus, as well as other local bus routes, also stop near the arena.

The Rams host the Buffalo Bills in a game with huge playoff implications for both teams. 
Go Metro: Our free SoFi Stadium Shuttle runs between the C Line’s Hawthorne/Lennox Station and the stadium. Please keep in mind the C and K Lines were reconfigured last month — the C Line now runs between Norwalk and the new Aviation/Century Station. The K Line is temporarily running in two segments: between Redondo and Aviation Century and between Westchester/Veterans and Expo/Crenshaw. Transfer between the C and K Lines at Aviation/Century.
