KCRW brings the vibes to La Plaza De Cultura Y Artes
KCRW Summer Nights makes one of its final stops of the season Friday evening at La Plaza de Cultura y Artes in downtown Los Angeles. Adrian Quesada’s Trio Asesino headlines with live music, joined by DJs Wyldeflower and Francesca Harding on the decks.

LA Sparks host Washington Mystics for Friday night action at Crypto.com Arena.

7th Annual Leimert Park Jazz Festival
The Leimert Park Jazz Festival returns Saturday for its seventh year, filling Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza with a multigenerational celebration of jazz. Jose James, Bobby West, and the West Coast Get Down are among the performers on a lineup that runs from late morning into the evening.

11TH Annual Dino Fest at the Natural History Museum
Dino Fest returns to the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County Sunday for its 11th year, diving deep into the world of dinosaurs and the science that brings their prehistoric past to life. A full day of discovery awaits curious minds of all ages.

The heat and humidity aren’t done with Southern California just yet, but the end of this prolonged stretch of heat is finally within sight. Friday remains the hottest day of the weekend, with Los Angeles County expected to see less cloud cover and noticeably warmer temperatures pushing into the 90s. Heat warnings and advisories remain in effect, so continue to take precautions if you are heading outside.
Saturday stays warm but begins the gradual cool-down. By Sunday, temperatures drop enough to fall below normal for this time of year, a genuine and welcome change after weeks of oppressive heat. The marine layer is also expected to make a return, keeping some areas cooler and cloudier through the morning hours.
