Heads up Metro riders! We’re gearing up for the Taste of Soul, which takes place October 19. This FREE festival of food, fun, and music along historic Crenshaw Boulevard first launched back in 2005 by Danny Bakewell, a civil rights activist and publisher of the influential Los Angeles Sentinel. Today, it’s a smorgasbord of food vendors, live music, art displays, children’s activities, community outreach, and even a handful of celebrity guests. Little wonder that the festival attracts over 350,000 people each year.
Running along Crenshaw Boulevard between Stocker Street and Obama Boulevard, the Taste of Soul has never been easier to reach via transit. The festival is right next to three Metro Rail stations: Expo/Crenshaw on the E and K Lines, as well as MLK/Crenshaw and Leimert Park on the K Line. It’s also accessible via several bus lines, such as the 210, which runs down Crenshaw.
