Cold Waves Festival brings dark electronic and post-punk sounds to Pacific Electric in Chinatown.
Cold Waves, the festival dedicated to dark electronic and post-punk music, returns to Los Angeles this weekend at Pacific Electric in Chinatown. Two nights of eclectic, underground sounds in one of the city’s newest and most atmospheric concert venues.

Caribbean Heritage Festival brings food, music and community to Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.
The Caribbean Heritage Festival lands at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza in Leimert Park Saturday afternoon for a free community celebration of Caribbean culture, music and food. A special food festival presented by The Infatuation LA spotlights local Caribbean and soul food restaurants and small businesses from across Los Angeles.

LA Chargers host Arizona Cardinals in season opener at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
The Los Angeles Chargers kick off their 2026 NFL season Sunday afternoon at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, hosting the Arizona Cardinals in the season opener. Kickoff is at 1:25 p.m.

Go Metro: Take the C or K Line to LAX/Metro Transit Center Station and connect on the free shuttle at Bus Bay 8.
Return shuttles begin at the start of the fourth quarter and run for 90 minutes after the game ends.

East LA Mexican Independence Day Parade & Festival
For 80 years, the East Los Angeles Mexican Independence Day Parade & Festival has brought generations together to celebrate Mexican culture, heritage, and community pride. Since 1946, the parade has become a cherished East LA tradition. Here, families, community leaders, performers, businesses, and organizations come together to honor the past while celebrating today’s vibrant community.

Fiestas Patrias at Olvera Street celebrates Mexican Independence and Hispanic Heritage Month in downtown Los Angeles.
El Pueblo de Los Angeles kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month Sunday with Fiestas Patrias, a free celebration of Mexican Independence featuring live entertainment, cultural activities, and the vibrant shopping and dining of the historic Olvera Street marketplace.

If you’re going to the Hollywood Bowl this weekend, connect with the Bowl’s shuttle at Ovation Hollywood via Metro’s Hollywood/Highland Station. Trains will run until 12 midnight after the shows. Now TAP your digital wallet, credit or debit card to ride.

Southern California is finally getting some relief after days of dangerous heat and heavy humidity. Starting Friday, temperatures will cool and keep dropping through the weekend as the muggy air that made things so uncomfortable moves out.
Friday will still be the warmest day of the weekend, with highs in the lower 90s, but that’s already much better than the recent Extreme Heat Warnings. Humidity will also drop a lot, so it should feel much more comfortable. The marine layer is expected to return too, bringing back the usual morning clouds and afternoon sun to coastal and valley areas.
The real relief comes on Saturday and Sunday. Most areas will see temperatures in the lower to mid-80s, which is normal for this time of year. After all the recent heat, that should feel refreshing. Both days will bring a nice mix of sun and clouds, with much more comfortable humidity.
