The Super Bowl is coming to SoFi Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 14 — the perfect Valentine’s Day gift to our region. The Rams are already the betting favorites to represent the NFC and we predict they’ll be playing their stadium mates, the Chargers.
The Rams and Chargers already have playoff pedigrees. Both teams possess top tier QBs, winning head coaches and play in a stadium easy to reach via mass transit!
Metro’s free SoFi Stadium Express will run for every Rams and Chargers game this season all the way through the playoffs and Super Bowl. The express bus runs between our gleaming LAX/Metro Transit Center (which opened last year) and SoFi Stadium.
If you haven’t taken Metro before to a game or anywhere else, don’t worry. Riding is easy — and a lot less stressful than dealing with traffic and parking.
How to ride
In four easy steps:
- Take the C Line or K Line to LAX/Metro Transit Center Station.
- Follow the signs from the train platform to the bus plaza and Bus Bay 8.
- Board the free SoFi Stadium Shuttle, which will drop you at the stadium parking lot adjacent to Prairie Avenue and Arbor Vitae Street.
- After the game, return to the same location to board the free shuttle back to LAX/Metro Transit Center.
Shuttles run every three to five minutes to the stadium beginning three hours before kickoff. Return service begins at the start of the fourth quarter and continues for 90 minutes after the game — or until all fans have boarded.
Plan your transit trip with the new Metro app, which can be downloaded for free for Apple and Android devices.
Several Metro bus lines — including Lines 102, 111, 117, 120 and 232 — also serve LAX/Metro Transit Center. From there, transfer to the SoFi shuttle at Bus Bay 8.
These Metro Bus Lines also have stops near SoFi Stadium:
•Take Line 115 to Manchester/Kareem
•Take Line 117 to Prairie/Century
•Take Line 212 to Prairie/Kelso
The Metro System
You can ride transit to SoFi Stadium from across our region. Our Metro Rail and Busway system extends well over 100 miles. In addition, Metrolink Regional Rail serves the six-county greater L.A. area and Amtrak trains run between major California cities.
Union Station in downtown Los Angeles is the region’s transit hub. If arriving there and headed to SoFi, take the A, B or D Lines to 7th/Metro Station and transfer to the E Line toward Santa Monica. Take the E Line to Expo/Crenshaw and transfer to the K Line toward Redondo Beach for the 20 minute ride to the LAX/Metro Transit Center and the SoFi Stadium Express.
How to pay your Metro fare
The SoFi Stadium Express is free, but regular fares apply when riding Metro trains and buses to reach it.
Metro’s regular fare is $1.75 each way, or $3.50 round-trip. The fare includes two hours of free transfers on Metro when you tap each time you board. Children under age 6 ride free with a fare-paying adult.
You now have several easy ways to pay:
- Contactless credit or debit card: Tap the same physical card at the fare validator each time you ride.
- Digital wallet: You can tap a credit or debit card stored in Apple Pay or Google Pay.
- TAP card: Plastic TAP cards are sold at vending machines at Metro Rail stations. Add at least $3.50 in Stored Value for the round-trip fare.
- TAP on your phone: You can add a TAP card to your smartphone using the TAP app or your phone’s wallet.
Use the same card or device throughout your trip so the system can recognize your free transfers and apply fare capping — you can take unlimited daily rides for $5. Reduced-fare riders should continue using their reduced-fare TAP cards.

How to park and ride
There is no public parking at LAX/Metro Transit Center, but you can park at nearby Metro stations and ride the train to the LAX/Metro Transit Center.
Convenient C Line options include:
- Aviation/Imperial Station: $3, payable on-site
- Hawthorne/Lennox Station: $10, payable on-site
- Crenshaw Station: $3, payable on-site
- Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station: $3, payable on-site
- Norwalk Station: Free for games on weekends and holidays, $3 on weekdays payable on-site
Convenient K Line options include:
- Fairview Heights Station: $3, payable on-site
- Redondo Beach Station: Free parking at all times
There is also parking — free and paid — available across the Metro system. Check for parking near you at the Metro.net parking page.
For paid Metro parking, please pay at the parking kiosk, through the free Metro Parking app (Apple or Android) or online at ParkAtMetro.net. Have your license plate number, TAP card number and a credit or debit card ready.
A few final tips
- Give yourself extra time, especially if this is your first Metro trip.
- Small coolers and picnic baskets are allowed on our buses and trains, but they must not block aisles.
- Please refrain from eating and drinking on buses and trains — it helps keep our vehicles clean. Water is fine — fans (like players) should stay hydrated.
- Barbecue grills, flammable products, weapons and oversized items are not allowed.
