Midsummer Scream brings a spooky time to Long Beach
Get ready for Halloween at Midsummer Scream. The annual Halloween and horror event takes over Long Beach Convention Center beginning August 7. Throughout the weekend, you’ll explore haunts made by pros and hobbyists, and shop for spooky items from 350+ vendors.

5th annual RiverFest, a FREE, all-ages, open-air environmental arts and community festival.
The event will showcase and celebrate the culture, history, and people that shape the 51-mile LA River, with special focus on community and how this great waterway provides vital public space for recreation, for work, and for nature itself

25th Annual Taste of Ecuador Food Festival
The 25th Annual Taste of Ecuador Food Festival is a vibrant cultural and culinary event celebrating traditional Ecuadorian heritage, music, and gastronomy.
When: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Where: Placita Olvera, downtown Los Angeles. Admission: Free

Go Metro to the Hollywood Bowl
The Hollywood Bowl will feature many concerts this summer. Here’s a quick guide on how to get there via Metro. More information can be found here.
Go Metro: Take the B Line to Hollywood/Highland Station. Then take the free shuttle or connect on Bus Line 222 to take you directly to the Hollywood Bowl.

The weekend will have plenty of sunshine, as high pressure is still in control, bringing drier and warmer weather. We’ll also have some monsoonal influence, which could increase humidity and make daytime highs warmer than forecasted. Otherwise, stay cool and hydrated with this August heat.
