First Fridays at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA
MOCA presents a special musical performance of works by John Cage, Alvin Lucier, György Kurtág, Luciano Berio, and J.S. Bach, performed by Colburn School students in the galleries of the exhibition Olafur Eliasson: OPEN. First Fridays at MOCA Geffen features special programming and free admission from 5 to 8 p.m.

L.A. Clippers Basketball
The Knicks visit the Intuit Dome on Friday and the Sacramento Kings visit Inglewood on Sunday as the Clippers fight to stay in the playoff picture.
Go Metro to Intuit Dome for L.A. Clippers home games by connecting to a free bus shuttle at Hawthorne/Lennox Station (C Line) or Downtown Inglewood Station (K Line). Note that boarding at Hawthorne/Lennox Station will be on Hawthorne Bl heading southbound (opposite side of SoFi shuttle boarding location). The shuttles will start running at 20-minute intervals two hours before each game begins and at 10-minute intervals for one hour after each game ends.
Saturday, March 8
L.A. Kings Hockey
The Kings look to break out of their recent skid against the Blues with the playoffs now on the near horizon.
Go Metro: Take the A or E Line to Pico Station, which is a one-block walk from Crypto.com Arena in downtown L.A. The Metro J Line bus, as well as other local bus routes, also stop near the arena. Tips for your game day trip.
Metro Bike Share Community Ride
The next edition of the Metro Bike Share Community Ride series rolls in this Saturday with a 6.6 mile one-way adventure from University Park to Culver City, where the group will then dock the bikes and catch a ride on the E Line back to the starting point. The meetup starts at 3775 S. Vermont Ave., and participants 16 years and older can reserve a Metro Bike (in advance) at no cost. Ride starts at 10 a.m.

Xingonx Fest
Looking for ways to celebrate Women’s History Month? Join women’s activist organization Mujeres de Maíz at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes as they celebrate their 28th anniversary with an evening of poetry, performance and conversation.

L.A. Chinatown Firecracker
The 47th annual L.A. Chinatown Firecracker is a two-day celebration that will include a 5K run/walk, a bike ride and even a dog walk. The much-anticipated opening ceremony features traditional lion dancers and the lighting of 100,000 firecrackers. Come for the races and stick around for a community festival with 50+ vendors, food, a beer garden, live entertainment and kid-friendly activities.

Sunday, March 9
Festival of the Kite in Redondo Beach
The 51st Annual Festival of the Kite brings a colorful day of activities to the Redondo Beach Pier, including kite-flying contests for prizes in several categories, DJ tunes, live music and even a hot-dog-on-a-stick eating competition.
