First Fridays x Mercado MOCA
The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA will host a celebration of Latinx and Chicanx culture with DJs spinning tunes, food, and a marketplace jam-packed with creative wares from more than 50 local artists and vendors.

Cinco de Mayo Mercado in San Gabriel
The grito contest we’ve all been waiting for! The City of San Gabriel celebrates Cinco de Mayo on Friday with an evening affair in the Mission District featuring live music, dance performances, activities for kids, food trucks, and a beer and cocktail garden. The grito contest is scheduled to start at 7:10 p.m.

Very Special Arts Festival Family Day
The Music Center’s Very Special Arts Festival celebrates the artistic achievements of students with all abilities. The festival will feature student and professional performances, visual and performing arts workshops and a student art exhibit created around a theme introduced to the students each year.

JACCC’s Kodomo no Hi (Children’s Day) Celebration
Japanese American Cultural & Community Center will host a special Children’s Day celebration in Little Tokyo with cultural performances, local delicacies, workshops and tons of fun for kids, exploring Japanese and Japanese American traditions.

May the 4th Celebration: Exploring the Galaxy
The Force is strong in L.A. as Star Wars fans wish one another “May the 4th be with you” on (unofficial) Star Wars Day. The Academy Museum will host a day of activities, workshops and screenings for fans of all ages to explore the galaxy of Star Wars, including a meet and greet with R2D2 and an evening showing of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, to name a few.

Museums of the Arroyo Day
Six museums and historic homes along the Arroyo Seco will offer free admission for the annual Museums of The Arroyo Day. Participants include The Gamble House, Heritage Square, the L.A. Police Museum, the Lummis Home, the Pasadena Museum of History and the South Pasadena Historical Museum. Free shuttles connect museums for those who want to visit multiple locations.
12 to 5 p.m., with last admission at 4 p.m.
