It might be the unofficial end of summer but there’s still plenty of fun things to do around L.A. this weekend! From major league sports matches and outdoor concerts to a gelato festival and a big Bollywood party – wherever you plan to go, Metro can get you there! Keep reading for details.

L.A. Dodgers  
The Dodgers play Arizona – in the midst of a battle with the Padres for supremacy in the NL West.

LACMA Free Concerts  
Good news, music lovers! The L.A. County Museum of Art outdoor concert series isn’t taking time off for the holiday weekend. On Friday, Jazz at LACMA will feature the uplifting sounds of Trevor Ware and Positive People with Sidney Jacobs on vocals. At Saturday night’s Latin Sounds, West Coast Latin music ensemble La Verdad will get you in the mood to groove with Latin soul, cha cha, salsa and boogaloo.

Gelato Festival World Masters 
Cool off this weekend at the Gelato Festival as top chefs compete for the title of Best Gelato Master in the World with new, original flavors that you can sample! The Ovation Hollywood courtyard will be abuzz all weekend with cooking demos, games for all ages, contests and tons of sweet treats.

Movie Screenings at the Academy Museum 
Escape from the heat this weekend with a trip to the Academy Museum for a special screening in a nicely air-conditioned theater. Cult favorite Showgirls screens on Friday night and Drop Dead Gorgeous on Saturday – both part of the museum’s Summer of Camp series. For fun with the family, Jungle Cruise plays Saturday morning in the Family Screenings series.

Cyndi Lauper at the Hollywood Bowl 
Award-winning artist and icon Cyndi Lauper performs at the Hollywood Bowl, and you can bet it’s going to be a weekend to remember! Her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun farewell tour is making its L.A. stop, celebrating a career full of bops and anthems, such as “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “Time After Time” and “True Colors.” 
Friday and Saturday 
Go Metro: Take the B Line to Hollywood/Highland Station and connect to the Bowl Shuttle at Ovation Hollywood. The shuttle stop is located in the Orange Court, on Level Two – off Orange Dr between Hollywood Bl and Franklin Av. 

Leimert Park Jazz Festival 
Jazz, art, community and culture are all part of the celebration at the Leimert Park Jazz Festival, taking place at the at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza. The exciting lineup of performers includes Dee Dee Bridgewater, vibraphonist Sasha Berliner, violinist Dayren Santamaría + Made in Cuba, the Melanin Horns, the World Stage Big Band, plus DJs Novena Carmel from KCRW and Linafornia. Come for the music, stay for the food and wine, an art show, a kids play zone and more!  
Doors open 11:30 a.m.; Concert 12:30 to 8:30 p.m.  
Go Metro: Take the K Line to Martin Luther King Jr Station 

Metro Art Presents: Bollywood Express at Union Station
Union Station comes alive with Indian music, dance and culture at the Bollywood Express party. The Ticket Concourse will transform into a fun, interactive event for all ages, showcasing high-energy dance and drumming performances, DJ-spun tunes, traditional henna artistry and tasty Indian bites. Bonus tip: the first 40 visitors to show their TAP cards to the Metro Art information table will receive a free Metro Art publication and a Union Station swag bag!  
7 – 10 p.m. FREE  
Go Metro: Take the A, B or Line to Union Station, or take the Metro J Line bus or multiple other local bus lines to Union Station.

UCLA Football 
College football season is off to a start here in L.A., with Utah hosted by the Bruins at the Rose Bowl on Saturday.  
Go Metro: Take the A Line to Memorial Park Station and walk a few blocks to hop on the shuttle to the stadium. Find more information, including boarding locations and game day tips. 

USC Football 
The Trojans kick off the season in a matchup with Missouri State at the L.A. Coliseum.

LAFC 
LAFC heads into this highly anticipated match with San Diego FC, another top team in the Western Conferenceplus it’s going to be the home debut of team forward Son Heung-Min.

Labor Day, September 1

Angel City FC 
Bay City FC is hosted by Angel City in a matchup at BMO Stadium.
