It’s a hot weekend in LA, but there are plenty of cool summer events to enjoy. The World Cup wraps up with Argentina facing Spain, and you’ll find fan zones all over L.A. County, from San Pedro to Pomona. CicLAvia Meet the Hollywoods is also happening this weekend. Metro makes it easy to get to all these events. Here’s what’s going on.

Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zone at Fairplex
The Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zone heads to the Fairplex in Pomona this weekend for the Bronze and Final matches. The event also includes a “Science of Soccer” exhibition, DJs, activities and more.
When: Saturday (12:30-5 p.m.) / Sunday (10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Where: Pomona Fairplex Tickets: Starting at $21.10

Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zone at West Harbor
Join fellow soccer fans for a full day of excitement as the world’s biggest sport brings everyone together for the final matches. Gates open 90 minutes before match start, so arrive early to explore and enjoy everything the day has to offer. From soccer-inspired activities and interactive experiences to great food, drinks, and a live DJ, there’s something for everyone.
When: Saturday-Sunday, 12-7 p.m. Where: West Harbor, 1332 South Harbor Blvd

Go Metro: Take the J Line to Beacon/1st Street stop and walk to West Harbor.
All Weekend
The 11th annual Love Long Beach Festival brings house music and good vibes to ShoreLine Aquatic Park on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19. Catch sets from Anton Tumas, Colette, Daví, DJ Minx, Doc Martin, Justin Martin, Lee Burridge, Radio Slave and many more at the two day festival.

DTLB Live!
This July, DTLB Live! is going country! The event features live country hits, cold drinks, and boots on the Promenade to Downtown Long Beach this July with live music from the Country Vison Band.
When: 4-8 p.m. Where: 235 The Promenade N, Long Beach Admission: Free
Go Metro: Take the A Line to Downtown Long Beach station.
CulturamaFest is a San Fernando Valley arts and culture activation in partnership with LA Metro, Valley Views, and 11:11 Projects. Culturama is an artist-led project that encourages the community to come together to embrace their shared cultures and reimagine a brighter future through conversation and art. This outdoor festival will feature soccer match watch parties, art installations, music, food trucks, and a vendor market!
When: 12-5 p.m. Where: Reseda Station Admission: Free

Sunday, July 19
The upcoming ‘Meet the Hollywoods’ event will bridge the City of West Hollywood and the City of Los Angeles across a 6.5-mile route along Highland, Santa Monica and Hollywood Boulevards. There will be a festive World Cup theme at the Hollywood/Highland station to provide a unique cultural experience for attendees.
When: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Where: East Hollywood, Hollywood, and West Hollywood Admission: Free
Go Metro: Take the B Line to Hollywood/Highland, Hollywood/Vine, Hollywood/Western and Vermont/Sunset stations.
For a single day, Long Beach will close a major corridor to cars and open the street to walking, bicycling, skating and more. With this family-friendly community event, explore a new neighborhood, discover a new restaurant, enjoy music and activities at one of the activated hubs along the route, or catch the final FIFA World Cup match at the City’s soccer activation in Bixby Park.
When: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Where: 333 West Ocean Boulevard, downtown Long Beach Admission: Free
Go Metro: Take the A Line to 1ST Street, 5th Street and Pacific Stations

The heat remains this weekend. It won’t be as hot as it was the last couple of days, but it will still be very warm. It shorts and flip flops weather because of the hot temperatures. Friday will be hot with temperatures in the upper 80s under sunny skies. Saturday and Sunday remains very warm with temperatures in the mid-80s under sunny skies. Please stay hydrated, cool and make sure you wear sunblock. Temperatures remain warm early next week.
Go Metro to the Hollywood Bowl
The Hollywood Bowl will feature many concerts this summer. Here’s a quick guide on how to get via Metro. More information could be found here.
Go Metro: Take the B Line to Hollywood/Highland Station. Then take the free shuttle or connect on Bus Line 222 to take you directly to the Hollywood Bowl.
