The International Women’s Day Protest & Rally is this Saturday and starts at Pershing Square in downtown Los Angeles.
If you’re planning on attending, Go Metro! Metro Rail stations are a short walk from the event, including:
B/D Lines: use Pershing Square Station, which is next to Pershing Square. The B/D Lines’ Civic Center/Grand Park Station is adjacent to City Hall and Grand Park.
A and E Lines: use Historic Broadway Station for both Pershing Square, L.A. City Hall and Grand Park.
There will be numerous bus detours in the northern part of DTLA due to the event. This includes detours on these Metro Bus Lines: 4, 10/48, 16, 18, 20, 28, 30, 33, 40, 45, 53, 55, 60, 62, 70, 76, 78, 81, 90, 92, 94, 487, 720 & J Line. Please click here to see detour info.

Fares on Metro Rail are $1.75 one-way or $3.50 roundtrip. Unlimited daily rides cost $5. Purchase fare at TAP card vending machines at all Metro Rail and Busway stations or download the TAP app to use your smartphone as a fare card.
Here’s information from Metrolink regional rail for their service to the rally on Saturday:
- Make your trip stress-free by riding Metrolink for only $10 with the Weekend Day Pass!
- Metrolink will run expanded service into Los Angeles on the Antelope Valley, San Bernardino, Orange County, and 91/Perris Valley Lines. (The Riverside Line does not operate on weekends, and the Ventura County, Orange County, and Inland Empire-Orange County Lines will not operate due to planned track projects.) This enhanced schedule is designed to get you to L.A. Union Station comfortably and on time.
At Union Station, your Metrolink ticket provides a free transfer to Metro. The B and D Lines are the quickest way from Union Station to Pershing Square. After the event, the A, B and D Lines are the fastest way back from City Hall and Grand Park to Union Station.

Its amazing that both Amtrak Surfliner and Metrolink OC lines are entirely shut down for maintenance on one of the busiest days of the year for women’s march. Could the maintenance not have happened a different day? Failure on Amtrak and Metrolink!
