Donate a bike this Sunday and help the victims of the Eaton Fire  

Earlier this year, the Eaton Fire devastated Altadena and parts of Pasadena, leaving hundreds of families without homes, businesses or transportation.  

This Sunday, February 23, you have a unique opportunity to help those in need. At the CicLAvia West Adams Meets University Park event in South LA, Metro will have a booth where you can donate a bike for the victims of the Eaton Fire.  

The CicLAvia is FREE and offers a chance to enjoy car-free streets, whether you are biking, skating, scootering, or simply walking along the route.  

How can you help? 

Metro has a successful program called Adopt-A-Bike, which works with various community organizations to provide free bikes to vulnerable communities in Los Angeles County. The goal of this program is to offer a transportation option to those in need, so they can reach their jobs, schools, and other daily needs. (Learn more about this program here.) 

One of the community organizations working with Adopt-A-Bike is Day One, which has recently received over 300 requests from people who, after being displaced by the Eaton Fire, need bikes to get around and rebuild their lives.  

Event details 

Metro’s booth will be located at University Hub, between Exposition Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, and will be open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm during Sunday’s CicLAvia.
