Metro extends its deepest sympathy to those impacted by the wildfires, and we offer our sincere gratitude to first responders working tirelessly to protect our communities. Our top priorities remain the safety of our riders and employees, and maintaining service.

We’re doing our best to prepare our system for the current weather — more below. Here are the latest service updates:
•We’re providing free rides while wildfire conditions persist, ensuring residents can travel safely to reunite with loved ones, reach shelters, attend school or work, and deliver essential donations.
•Here is an interactive map of evacuation and resource centers near our system. We’re updating the map as we get new information.
FEMA has opened two disaster recovery centers. Both are near our rail system if you need a ride. The centers are located at:
UCLA Research Park West
10850 West Pico Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90064
Hours: Daily 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Getting there: the center is a .3 mile walk from the E Line’s Westwood/Rancho Park Station. Big Blue Bus Lines 7 & 8 and Culver City Bus Line 3 also stop nearby.
Pasadena City College Community Education Center
3035 East Foothill Blvd.
Pasadena, CA 91106
Hours: Daily 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Getting there: the center is .4 mile walk from the A Line’s Sierra Madre Villa Station.

•All rail lines are currently running their regular service today. Current impacts to our bus system are:
- LINE 134: canceled due to the Palisades fire.
- LINE 602: will resume running with beginning of service on Thursday, Jan. 23. Line 602 westbound will run to Allenford, Paul Revere Middle School and then loop back east via 26th, San Vicente, Bundy and back to Sunset Blvd.
- LINES 660 and 662: no service north of Washington Blvd. in the Pasadena and Altadena areas due to the Eaton fire.
Below are preparations we’re taking to ensure safe and reliable service:
•Maintenance teams have been clearing trees, brush and other debris near transit lines to prevent disruptions. We’re also been inspecting key infrastructure –such as overhead wires on our rail system — and we’ve deployed backup power systems.
•We’re continuing to deploy extra staff at high-volume stations and stops to provide directions to nearby resources — FEMA and others — for wildfire victims.

•Due to poor air quality from the fires, face masks are available on-board our buses and certain rail lines. Metro Ambassadors, Customer Centers, Transit Security Officers and Contract Security are distributing masks across the system — see pic above.
•Our Customer Centers are open and available to you for any Metro-related support you may need. Our staff can help with trip planning, service updates, rider concerns and providing masks. Locations are here.
We’ll update this post with our latest service information. We’re also updating riders on the metro.net homepage, @MetroLAAlerts on X and on our Facebook page. Service updates are provided to apps that have trip planning. Service information is also available in Spanish and English at 323-G0-METRO (323-466-3876).
