From the desk of project manager Wilbur Babb: Replacement of the Pershing Square escalator replacement project’s first escalator has been completed today. The escalator at the Red/Purple Line Pershing Square Station 5th Street entrance [continue reading]
Pershing Square Station’s 5th Street entrance will be partially closed from May 31 through October while the down escalator unit is replaced. During this time the up escalator and 4th Street west portal will remain in service. Elevator access will be maintained at all times. Here’s the notice:
A long-term closure of the northeast 4th and Hill Street portal at Pershing Square starts next Monday, April 18, through January 2017. During the closure, crews will replace the escalators and re-grade the Metro plaza on that side of the station.
