And here’s the view looking north from Camp Carmageddon toward the San Fernando Valley about 90 minutes ago.
The big equipment moving into place as the clock struck midnight on the 405 with work about to begin on the north side of the Mulholland bridge. It’s Carmageddon time!
Here’s the scene about an hour ago at the Unified Command in downtown Los Angeles. Uneventful — which is good!
Pylons are going up and lane closures are underway in advance of the full closure of the 405 between the 10 and 101 that begins in about 90 minutes. The midnight hour is approaching, people! Many reporters are at Camp Carmageddon, just north of the Mulholland Drive Bridge.
Here’s the good word: The Unified Command for the 405 Freeway closure will be providing periodic messages related to the closure to the public through a system called Nixle.
