UPDATE, MARCH 28: We know some of you have been having issues with the new app and scheduling rides. We’re very sorry for any inconvenience and we have staff working through the issues. Thank you for your interest in Micro and we’ll try to get these issues resolved as soon as possible.
Big news for Metro Micro riders! We’re making some changes to this popular rideshare program to make your trips better, smoother and more convenient. We’re launching a new Metro Micro app for both iOS and Android. Once downloaded, you’ll be able to request rides taking place beginning Sunday, March 16. Get them now from the Apple Store and Google Play.

What to expect in the new app:
- Leave now options: Need a ride right away? You’ll now have a “leave now” option on the app, which provides you the soonest available pickup time based on real-time vehicle availability and traffic conditions.
- More ride notifications: We want to keep you in the loop from the moment you book your ride until you complete your trip. With the new app, not only will you receive notifications when your driver arrives and when you complete your ride, but you’ll also get pinged:
- When your ride is booked
- 24 hours before your scheduled ride (if you scheduled in advance)
- 1 hour before your scheduled ride (if scheduled in advance)
- 2-3 minutes before your vehicle arrives
- If your vehicle will arrive 5 or more minutes earlier or later than the scheduled pickup
These changes are just around the corner! Please note that booking rides on the existing app will only be available until end of service on Saturday, March 15. Beginning on March 16, the existing app will be disabled.
We understand that some of you may have stored credit on the existing app. If you’ve used the existing app to book rides between February 1 and March 15, your account will be automatically transferred to the new app. Those of you who use credit or debit cards to pay your fare will need to reenter your payment details when you first use the new app.

Hopefully it’ll have more useful push notifications. The SMS notices put the map url before the actual street address so they don’t provide any useful information when they pop up in notification bubbles.
Do I need to create a new account? It didn’t recognize my phone number.
Is this like an uber service?
