Go Metro to the Dodgers Parade Friday!

The Dodgers made history last night as they came back from a five-run deficit to clinch a 7-6 Game 5 victory over the New York Yankees, earning their eighth World Series title and our second in five years. A nailbiter? Yes! But we can’t think of a more inspiring conclusion to an unforgettable season.  

Let the celebrations begin!  

We didn’t have a parade after the Dodgers big victory in 2020 due to covid restrictions. So, you know what that means –– this year’s parade, taking place TOMORROW, will be one for the books and the first Dodgers parade since 1988! Even more fitting, it falls on the birthday of beloved Dodgers legend Fernando Valenzuela, who passed away last week.  

Here are the details:  

•The parade starts at 11 a.m. at Gloria Molina Grand Park in front of Los Angeles City Hall, right across the street from Civic Center/Grand Park station on the B/D Lines, and a short walk from Historic Broadway station on the A/E lines.  The Dodgers will then travel on double-decker buses on a 45-minute parade route from 1st Street to Grand Avenue, then onto 5th Street, culminating at the intersection of 5th and Flower Street. 

•Plan your trip with Google/Apple maps or metro.net. 

•Regular Metro fare is $1.75 or $3.50 round-trip. TAP vending machines are at all Metro Rail stations. Pro tip: purchase your roundtrip fare before your trip to avoid lines afterwards!  Pro tip #2: To avoid waiting at TAP vending machines, you can also purchase fare on your phone. •We’ll also have the Dodger Stadium Express running from Union Station for the ticketed celebration event at the ballpark, which begins at 12:15 p.m. Dodger Stadium Express service will begin at 9 a.m. Please note that you must have an event ticket to ride the Dodger Stadium Express. Union Station is also served by Metrolink regional rail and Amtrak. You can transfer to the Metro A, B and D Lines at Union Station. Valid Metrolink tickets allow you to transfer free to Metro. BUS DETOURS

Keep in mind that many bus lines will be detoured 4am-4pm on Friday. Please see this separate post for all the details. These lines will be detoured: 4, 10/48, 14/37, 16, 18, 20, 28, 30, 40, 45, 51, 53, 55, 60, 62, 66, 70, 76, 78, 81, 90, 92, 94, 96, 460, 487 and the J Line (910).

Please use Metro Rail instead of bus if trying to reach DTLA tomorrow morning, and avoid driving into the area.   

We will be funneling many of our bus lines that serve downtown LA to four Metro Rail stations, where riders can transfer to trains and continue their trips into DTLA. Those stations will be:

•Union Station (A, B and D Lines) for those coming into DTLA from the north or east.

•Westlake/MacArthur (B and D Lines) for those coming into DTLA from the west.

•Little Tokyo/Arts District (A and E Lines) for those coming into DTLA from the east.

•Pico Station (A and E Lines) for those coming into DTLA from the west or south.
