Long Beach Pride is here, and Metro is proud to be a sponsor of one of Southern California’s most celebrated festivals. While Long Beach takes center stage this weekend, there is plenty happening across L.A. County, from the Bug Fair at the Natural History Museum to LA Sparks at Crypto.com Arena. Metro can get you there without burning gas or dealing with the parking headache. Here’s what happening.

La Verne/Fairplex Station: Connect with Foothill Transit bus 67 Fair Flyer. The 67 Fair Flyer is a shuttle providing pick-up and drop-off service to Fairplex gates beginning 10:30a.m. and will run Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Memorial Day.
Pomona North: Connect with Foothill Transit bus 197. On Friday, special service has been added for 9, 10 and 11 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day, Line 197 added special service for 8, 9, 10, 11 p.m. hours.
Extra Bonus: Most Metro park-and-ride lots are free on weekends and $3 on weekdays. Find your nearest option at metro.net/parking.
43rd Annual Long Beach Pride Festival and Parade celebrate diversity and community at Marina Green
The 43rd annual Long Beach Pride Festival returns to Marina Green in downtown Long Beach for a two-day celebration of diversity, inclusion and community. The weekend promises live music, cultural programming and the iconic Pride Parade along the Long Beach waterfront.
When: Saturday, May 16 (Festival) and Sunday, May 17 (Parade)

DTLB Live: Summer Throwback Sing-Along brings free 90s and 2000s hits to The Promenade in Long Beach
Head to The Promenade for a feel-good evening of music, community, and nostalgic fun! This edition features a Summer Throwback Sing-Along, packed with your favorite hits from the 90’s and early 00’s. Bring your kids, your friends, and your whole crew to sing your heart out, dance, shop local, and soak up the summer vibes all evening long!

Gateway to Pride Celebration keeps the party going after the Long Beach Pride Parade
The Gateway to Pride Celebration at Shoreline Gateway picks up where the Long Beach Pride Parade leaves off, with dancing, live music, a beer garden and Pride gear along Ocean Boulevard. It is the perfect cap to a full day of Pride festivities in downtown Long Beach.

Bug Fair at Natural History Museum
The 40th annual Bug Fair is happening at Natural History Museum this weekend. One of NHMLA’s signature events, the gathering brings together gardeners, scientists, artists and more for a weekend dedicated to insects.

Metro’s newest D Line stations keep the energy going this Friday with a free outdoor salsa class at Wilshire/La Brea Station. PRO Dance transforms the station plaza into a live dance floor, welcoming riders and community members of all skill levels.

LACMA × Metro Art: Todd Gray’s Histories in the Plural
Hear from artist Todd Gray at this rare inside look at the vision behind some of L.A.’s most engaging contemporary art projects. Gray will be in conversation with scholar and curator Dr. Tiffany E. Barber about his newly commissioned work for LACMA, Octavia’s Gaze, as well as his public art projects across Los Angeles, including a new Metro Art commission for Wilshire/La Cienega station, giving insight into his inspirations, creative process, and approach to making art for both museums and public spaces. May Gray will be a fixture this weekend, with marine layer clouds rolling in off the Pacific each night and lingering through the morning hours along the coast and valleys. The good news is that skies will clear nicely each afternoon, giving way to plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures.
Friday and Saturday both look pleasant once the morning clouds burn off, with highs in the low to mid-70s across most areas. Inland spots will run a touch warmer on Friday, while coastal communities stay slightly below normal. One thing to watch Friday night into Saturday morning: gusty northwest winds are expected along the Los Angeles County mountains and the I-5 corridor, where gusts could approach advisory levels at times. If you’re driving that stretch overnight or early Saturday, be prepared for breezy conditions.
Sunday brings a slight cool-down, with temperatures dipping a few degrees below normal for most areas. Still a perfectly nice day, just a bit cooler than the start of the weekend.
Looking ahead, a taste of summer arrives next week. As a weather system moves out and high pressure builds back in, temperatures will climb into the 80s for inland and valley areas by the middle of the week. Enjoy the mild weekend while it lasts.
