As we count the days until the FIFA Club World CupTM comes to town this weekend, it’s also worth noting that the FIFA World Cup™ arrives at SoFi Stadium one year from today. The opening match featuring the U.S. team is June 12, 2026.
SoFi Stadium will host seven other World Cup™ matches next year: on June 15, 18 and 21 and 25 as part of the group stage (the game on June 25 will be another U.S. team match); round of 32 matches on June 25, 28 and July 2, and; a quarterfinals match on July 10.
Metro’s SoFi Stadium Shuttle will help you get to all the games — and Metro will help residents and visitors alike get everyone to wherever they must go around town. Check out the new Metro web page for the World Cup™.
The SoFi Shuttle will be running between our lovely new LAX/Metro Transit Center and the stadium. The LAX/Metro Transit Center is easy to reach via our C Line, K Line, Metro bus lines and a handful of municipal bus routes.
The new station also makes it easy for travelers to connect to LAX passenger terminals. A temporary bus shuttle is running between LAX and our station — but starting next year the airport’s people mover is scheduled to debut with service between the LAX/Metro Transit Center and three new stations that are a short walk to LAX terminals.
Between now and next year, we are also expanding our system and making significant upgrades for riders:
•The A Line will be extended to Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne and Pomona, where riders can connect to Metrolink’s line serving the Inland Empire. Service is forecast to begin this summer.
•The first section of the D Line is also forecast to open between the existing Wilshire/Western in Koreatown to shiny new stations at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax (and the Miracle Mile!) and Wilshire/La Cienega in Beverly Hills.
•In time for the World Cup™, riders will have the ability to pay fares at bus fareboxes or turnstiles by tapping their credit card or phone. That means no TAP card required.
•We also have a new Metro app in the words that will consolidate our digital offerings and make it easier to plan trips and quickly find everything you need to know to ride transit in our region.

While we wait for the World Cup™, the Club World Cup™ is coming to town beginning this weekend. Six matches will be held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena:

To ride Metro to the Rose Bowl:
•Take the A Line to Memorial Park Station in Pasadena.
•Turn right out of the station and walk 5 to 10 minutes to the free shuttle buses from Parsons Parking Lot B. See the map at right. Shuttles run every five to seven minutes. Also: there will be a hydration station right outside Memorial Park Station.
•After the match, hop aboard the bus shuttle where you were dropped off at the stadium and return to Memorial Park Station.
•To plan your transit trip, we suggest using Google Maps, Apple Maps, the Transit or Moovit apps or the trip planner on metro.net. Our rail and busway system map is at right; Union Station in downtown Los Angeles is the best place to transfer between Metro, Metrolink regional rail and Amtrak, our national rail carrier.
•A regular adult fare on Metro Rail is $1.75 one-way, which includes two hours of transfers to/from other Metro bus and rail lines. Load your fare on a plastic TAP card — which can be purchased from machines at Metro Rail and Busway stations — or use the TAP app to pay fare with your smartphone.
•At Memorial Park Station, we’ve added a Throne restroom and water station. Both are free to use!
We’re also offering something new for those who are new to our system — you can ride to the matches with Metro Ambassadors. Our Ambassadors are here to help everyone find their way (visitors: L.A. is a huge area!), answer any of your questions and help identify and attend to issues.
No sign-up is needed. Just show up at the designated time and meetup location in the chart below, and look for the friendly ambassadors in bright green shirts. They’ll guide you and a group of fellow fans to Pasadena.

Why can’t Los Angeles get it right? I go to other cities across the country and I use their public transportation system where I need to go no problem. With all the venues that are in Inglewood on Prairie Ave. between Century and Manchester, why was there an extension not considered to get from the LAX/Metro Transit Center via Arbor Vitae St to get to Centinela hospital, Kia Forum, SoFi Stadium,YouTube Theater, Intuit Done, Hollywood Park Casino, Cosm Los Angeles? Why do we have to rely on shuttle buses? Isn’t the point to get vehicles off the road and now we are going to have shuttle buses going up and down Arbor Vitae St. just for NFL games? An above ground extension from LAX/Metro Transit Center and these venues should be considered. Will definitely reduce traffic congestion. I went to a concert at Intuit dome and I would have used Metro if I could get from Intuit Dome to the LAX Transit Center.
