The Lawndale Beat joins TAP

Hello South Bay! Ever ridden on the Lawndale Beat? Now, taking advantage of this shuttle service is easier than ever … it’s the 27th transit agency to use TAP. That means that you can use your TAP card to ride the Beat, Metro and 25 other agencies across LA County!

The Lawndale Beat serves a number of South Bay destinations Monday through Friday from 7am to 6:35pm, Saturday from 8:40am to 5:55pm and Sunday from 9:20am to 5:45pm. Riders can enjoy benefits like free internal transfers for 2.5 hours and free fares for seniors, persons with disabilities, and students on school days with a valid student ID. The Lawndale Beat accepts Stored Value, EZ Transit passes, and GoPass for TAP card users. Click here for more information about fares and schedules.

TAP cards are $2 plus the cost of the fare and have a 15-year expiration date.

Even better, one card provides access to 27 transit agencies. Just tap, and the correct fare will automatically be deducted. Your TAP card also allows you to transfer between multiple agencies without any hassle. Don’t have a TAP card? No problem! Get started today here!

Let me know when TAP is cross-county and with OC, SB, SD, Riverside, and VC that way Metrolink has no choice but to finally support transit cards from all counties it serves.
