Due to the Mexican Independence Day Parade in East Los Angeles on Sunday, September 10, we are implementing detours for Metro bus lines 70 and 258 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Cesar Chavez Avenue between Mednick and Record Avenues. The parade is planned to begin at the intersection of Cesar Chavez and Mednick avenues at 10 a.m. –– please plan ahead if you’ll be traveling through this area.
Mark Consuelos has been named the Grand Marshal this year, and we’ll also be participating –– look out for our bus on the parade route!
Bus line 70
- Eastbound: Regular route to Cesar Chavez Ave. and Rowan Avenue, then continues via Cesar Chavez Avenue, right to Gage Avenue, left to 1st St., left to Schoolside Avenue, right to Cesar Chavez Avenue, and then back to the regular route.
- Westbound: Regular route to Cesar Chavez Ave. and Collegian Avenue, then continues via Cesar Chavez Avenue, to left Schoolside Avenue, right to 1st St., right to Gage Ave., left to Cesar Chavez Avenue, and then back to the regular route.
Bus line 258
- Northbound: Regular route to Mednik Avenue and 3rd St., then continues via Mednik Avenue, to right 1st St., to left Atlantic Boulevard, left to Floral Dr. to Mednik Avenue and back to regular route.
- Southbound: Regular route to Floral Dr. and Dangler Avenue, then continues via Floral Dr., to right Atlantic Blvd., right to 1st St., left to Mednik Avenue, and back to regular route.
