Please join us as we roll out the draft Active Transportation Strategic Plan (ATSP) Update. After extensive community input and technical research, we now get to share how Los Angeles County can improve walking, biking, and rolling.
If you’re new to Active Transportation, it refers to human-powered methods of travel, such as walking, bicycling, and rolling to get from one place to another. The benefits of active transportation include improved health, safety, air quality and economic activity.
The 2023 ATSP proposes improvements to three components of travel to form a comprehensive countywide active transportation network:
- Connections to transit through First/Last Mile Areas
- Safer walking and rolling through Pedestrian Districts
- Stress-free cycling connections through Regional Bikeways
To better understand the three components of Metro’s Active Transportation Plan please review our interactive story map and benefits dashboards to learn about the social, economic, environmental, and safety benefits associated with each.
