There are some changes coming to The Source, so this will our last Service Councils post here. To stay up to date with all things Service Council, email servicecouncils@metro.net and tell us which Council you’re interested in (or if you’d like to hear about all of them). You can be signed up to receive meeting reminders with links to the agendas and presentations. Or, you can keep an eye on the Advisory Meetings calendar here. The Service Council agendas are always posted at least 3 days before the meetings are held, with links to presentations.
The Service Councils, which are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their creation by the Metro Board this month, were created as a way to bring Metro closer to the communities it serves. The Councils continue to welcome riders with opportunities for direct input into service issues in their communities
As for what’s coming up, only the San Fernando Valley will meet in August. The rest of the Councils are taking the month off. Two new members will be sworn in on the San Fernando Valley Service Council at their August 2 meeting. The Council will also get updates on Metro system elevator and escalators, and on their region’s service performance and items of interest. Then all Councils will meet in September. Presentations for September are still being finalized, so email ServiceCouncils@metro.net to sign up for meeting reminders, or check the advisory body meeting calendar here for updates.
The public can attend meetings in person or online, and make comments in person, online, or by phone. The agendas that are posted here also include information on how to listen and submit comments during the meeting, and have links to the presentations. We’d love to hear from you, so please drop in
