Service Advisory: shuttle train to replace Northbound A Line (Blue) service between Washington Station and 7th/Metro Center Station

UPDATE: Due to an unfortunate turn of events, this A Line work activity utilizing the Shuttle Train from Washington on a 30 min headway will be implemented again all day on Monday 6/5. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Metro will perform urgent overhead wire work on a section of Metro A Line (Blue) on Tuesday, May 30 – Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 6 a.m. – end of service This work will require interruption of Northbound rail service between Washington Station and 7th/Metro Center Station.

A free shuttle train will be available to transport passengers between the following five (5) stations:

  • Washington
  • San Pedro St
  • Grand/LATTC
  • Pico
  • 7th St/Metro Center

Shuttle trains will run with a 25-30 minute headway, so please allow extra travel time. Passengers can follow the temporary signs for directions. Riders are encouraged to use the J Line (Silver) as an alternate route.

Train service will continue to run Southbound from 7th/Metro Center Station to Washington Station.

Normal rail service will resume Sunday, June 4. As always we appreciate your patience as we work to improve Metro Rail service. For the latest transportation news and service updates, follow us on Twitter @metroLAalerts.

  1. Well, it turns out that service is interrupted in both directions, even though the announcements at Pico station only mention northbound service. Really poor communication, Metro.

  2. Why are the bus headways intentionally lower than the rail service?
