Our Annual Older Adult Transportation Expo is May 18 at the Pasadena Convention Center

Metro is celebrating Older Americans Month in May by hosting the 7th Annual Older Adult Transportation Expo at the Pasadena Convention Center on Thursday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Pasadena Convention Center is located at 300 East Green Street, a .4-mile walk from Metro’s L Line (Gold) Memorial Park Station. Pasadena Transit will provide courtesy shuttle buses to the event from the station beginning at 8:15am. Parking at the Pasadena Convention Center is $15. Metro will not provide parking validation.

This year’s theme is Make the Connection! The event will be filled with information and resources to help older adults travel on public transportation with ease.

Featured topics and activities include:

•Connecting to the City Center – learn about the must-see destinations in DTLA from the art galleries, restaurants, and upcoming events

•The Importance of Connection and Staying Active with Dr. Laura Trejo, Executive Director of Aging and Community Services, LA County WDACS

•Join in on workshops discussing the Senior TAP card, fun destinations, and learn how to travel beyond LA County on Metrolink

•Apply for your senior TAP card onsite and visit with other Metro exhibitors as well as our transportation partners

•Hop on the Metro Art Bus. This immersive art experience honors the stories of Metro riders through their portraits created by local artists. Forty-plus portraits are featured on the exterior and interior of the bus.
