Art on TAP cards are Metro’s smallest artworks that fit inside pockets and accompany transit riders on their journeys. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Metro Art’s Through the Eyes of Artists poster series, a limited edition set of Art on TAP cards will be available for purchase rolling out this week. In the tradition of colorful travel destination posters, the artworks are part of an award-winning series by 63 local artists that illustrate the unique places accessible by Metro across L.A. County.
We’ve got five Art on TAP cards in the set:
Where can I get Art on TAP cards?
We’ve loaded batches of the five collectible cards into select Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) across the system. Find them at designated machines at the locations below (while supplies last):
- Memorial Park
- 5th Street (Long Beach)
- Norwalk
- Leimert Park
- Hollywood/Highland
- 7th St/Metro Center
- Westlake/MacArthur Park
- Rosecrans
- Expo/Sepulveda
- North Hollywood
The cards at the TVMs are randomly shuffled. It might take a little digging to collect all five.

These special edition TAP cards are just one way we’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of our Through the Eyes of Artists series. Several of them are included in the exhibition, Journeys Continued…, currently on view in the Union Station Passageway Art Gallery. Select poster reprints from the series are available for view on Metro buses and available at select Customer Service Centers while supplies last.
