For the September round of meetings, all Councils will hear an update on Metro Micro, Metro’s on-demand ride sourcing service. Councils will also hear their usual Regional Service updates.
Gateway Cities and San Gabriel Valley will learn more about Montebello Transit’s proposal to discontinue their Line 60. San Fernando Valley and Westside Central members will report back on their experience at the August 19, 2022, Mobility 21 Conference. Last but not least, the South Bay Cities will discuss alternate dates for their October and November meetings.
Here are the dates for the upcoming September meetings, along with a link to each Council’s page with a map of the region and the list of the members:
- San Fernando Valley: September 7, 2022, at 6:30 p.m.
- Gateway Cities: September 8, at 2 p.m.
- South Bay Cities: September 9, 2022, 9:30 a.m.
- San Gabriel Valley: September 12, 2022, at 2 p.m.
- Westside/Central: September 14, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
On a related Service Council note, the Service Council’s bylaws state that all Councils will meet on a quarterly basis with the CEO and other Metro executive staff. The next quarterly meeting with the CEO, referred to as the Meet & Confer, will be held on Tuesday, September 6, from 2-4 p.m. In addition to chatting with CEO Stephanie Wiggins, the Councils will also get an update on Los Angeles World Airports Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) and Airfield & Terminal Modernization Project. Spanish interpretation will be available for this meeting; information on how to join available in the agenda posted here.
Interpretation is available for public Metro meetings and events in alignment with ADA and Title VI Requirements: sign language interpretation, materials in alternative formats, interpreters for members of the public with limited English proficiency, and other accommodations are available to the public for Metro sponsored meetings and events. Agendas and minutes will also be made available in other languages upon request. All requests for reasonable accommodations, interpretation services, and materials in other languages must be made at least three working days (72 hours) in advance of the scheduled meeting date. Service Council meeting agendas (including the Meet & Confer) are always posted here at least three days before the meeting; the online agendas include information on how to listen and comment during the meeting, links to the presentations and to submit your comments to be read during the meeting, and a link to stream the meeting goes live when each meeting starts. The Service Council meetings will continue virtually in September in accordance with COVID-19 Safer at Home orders.
