New Art on TAP cards featuring rider portraits now available

Update 7/29 –  The 3 latest Art on TAP cards are now available at Customer Centers

New limited-edition Art on TAP cards featuring artworks commissioned by Metro Art launched at select stations this week – just in time for you to pick one up and take it for a spin on the Metro Art Bus!

The three new Art on TAP cards are Monday Morning by Alepsis Hernández, Playful Transportation by Cody Lusby and Modern Prometheus by Dave Van Patten.

As with last month‘s release of Art on TAP cards by Metro Art and the inaugural set of Art on TAP in 2019, the portraits evoke the intimate and universal stories of riders on our transit system. The rider portraits are also featured on the Metro Art Bus, on digital screens installed at A Line (Blue) stations and in the Union Station Passageway Art Gallery as part of the exhibition We Are…Portraits of Metro Riders by Local Artists.

The new limited-edition Art on TAP cards are now available at the TAP vending machines at the stations listed below.  For the moment, the cards are only available at the TVMs – information on Customer Center locations to be announced in coming days.

All card designs are stocked at Metro Customer Centers as of July 29. If you’re purchasing at a TVM, be sure to check the header above the screen before purchase to see which cards are in stock. Not all stations have each design.

Cards are $2 plus the cost of fare. Available only while supplies last.

  1. Is there any info about the Summer TAP cards that I saw on a poster at a few customer centers, along with the Spring TAP cards I found at a few customer centers that were never mentioned on The Source?
