Artist videos at 7th St/Metro Center and Hollywood/Highland Stations…and learn how to submit your video work!

The new Metro Art: Digital Shorts series at 7th St/Metro Center and Hollywood/Highland Stations features animations and video art from artists Adebukola Bodunrin, Caress Reeves, Jantsankhorol Erdenebayar (Jantsa), Jisoo Chung, Kiel Johnson and Rebecca Bruno with Delaram Pourabdi.

 

UPDATED 8/18: Please note the deadline for the 2022 Artist Pool for Digital Media Opportunities has been extended from Weds 8/31  to Weds 9/14 at 11:59 p.m.

Riders passing through 7thSt/ Metro Center and Hollywood/Highland Stations should keep their eyes peeled for a new Metro Art short video series on large-format digital screens at the stations.

The new Metro Art: Digital Shorts series provides riders with bite-sized bits of video art and animation inspired by the theme of movement. The videos are brief interludes interspersed between Metro informational content and advertising. The pilot project features six artist-created animation and video artworks.

Call to Artists • 2022 Artist Pool for Digital Media Opportunities

If you’re an artist wondering how you might have your own digital media artwork featured on a Metro display in the future, you’re in luck!

In conjunction with the release of the Metro Art: Digital Shorts, Metro Art has just released a Call to Artists. The request for qualifications initiates Metro Art’s first-ever Artist Pool for Digital Media Opportunities. Artists who work in digital media— including video, digital animation, stop-motion, single-channel video, and performance video documentation— are invited to apply.  The Call to Artists for the 2022 Artist Pool for Digital Media Opportunities is open through Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 5 p.m. 11:59 p.m.PDT Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. PDT
