Emergency drills to take place along Crenshaw/LAX Line route in coming weeks

As part of the Crenshaw/LAX light rail project (the future K Line), Metro personnel, LA County Fire, Inglewood Police, and LA County Sheriff’s Departments will conduct a series of emergency drills along the project alignment. The group will be conducting testing and practice emergency drills. The drills will include simulated train collisions, train fire in tunnel/stations and emergency rescues.

Streets along the project alignment will be blocked while the emergency drills are conducted. There will be response vehicles, Inglewood PD vehicles, actors, and LA-Metro personnel on the scene. LA County Fire Department will perform rescue/recovery on the tracks extracting simulated injured passengers (actors) from the tracks after de-energizing the power to the train.

The next exercises will be Wednesday, June 1, and Friday, June 3.
