Go Metro to the L.A. Times Festival of Books this weekend!

The Poetry Stage at the Festival of Books in 2019.

The L.A. Times Festival of Books returns to the USC campus on Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24. Browse through hundreds of booksellers and enjoy hundreds of indoor and outdoor events, author signings, performances, discussions and more! The event is free and open to the public.

To get to the Festival of Books, take the Metro E Line (Expo) to Expo Park/USC Station or the Metro J Line (Silver) to 37th Street/USC. The DASH F bus is another good option and it’s only 35 cents to ride if you use Stored Value on TAP. Use the Transit app — Metro’s official app — to plan your trip.

A one-way trip on Metro Rail is $1.75 and gives you two hours of free transfers. To save time on your return trip, load $3.50 in Stored Value for a round-trip ride before you head out. One-way fare on the J Line is $2.50. Visit our booth in the South Trousdale area to buy and load your TAP card.

Metro is also offering a variety of fare pass discounts — learn more about saving money while riding Metro in this Source post.

The Festival of Books will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
