Heads up: detours on Sunday, March 20, for LA Marathon

The LA Marathon is the morning of Sunday, March 20 running from Dodger Stadium to Century City — see the above map. As per usual, several bus lines will be detoured during the event:

2, 4, 10, 14, 16, 18, 20, 28, 30, 33, 40, 45, 53, 55, 60, 62, 70, 76, 78, 81, 90, 92, 94, 96, 105, 106, 180, 182, 204, 206, 207, 210, 212, 217, 218, 222, 224, 233, 460, 487/489, 602, 603, 617, 720, 754, 761, 854 and 910/950. For more details on bus detours, check Metro’s Service Advisories page.

If you want to take transit to see the race, we suggest riding the B (Red) Line to either the Hollywood/Western or Hollywood/Vine station.

Be sure to load a TAP card ahead of time with $3.50 round trip fare in Stored Value. Each person must have their own TAP card, which can be purchased at any Metro Rail Station for $2.

We encourage riders to use the Transit app — Metro’s official app — to plan their trips. Download the free iPhone version or Android phone version.

  1. LA could learn a lot about street closures from this event: make them brief and well publicized.
