Metro and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) invite community members, stakeholders, and residents to participate in a virtual I-710 South Corridor’s Task Force meeting on Monday, March 14, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
This meeting will be an opportunity for the public to comment and provide feedback. Please note that this meeting is virtual due to the ongoing pandemic. Scroll down for the meeting info and link to join.
During the Task Force’s sixth meeting, the Task Force meeting will cover the following topics:
- Updates from Task Force meeting #5
- Discussions about the Zero-Emission Truck and Community Engagement Strategy Working Groups and the Equity Planning & Evaluation Tool
- A vote to confirm members of the Community Leadership Committee (CLC)
- Sharing the preliminary results from the vision and goals survey and hold an open discussion to collect input and feedback.

In response to growth, increases in cargo containers arriving at the Ports, increasing traffic and aging infrastructure, local residents, governments and community groups are working together to find ways to improve mobility, safety, air quality and public health in this corridor.

During Task Force meeting #5, the Task Force reviewed and voted on the 710 Task Force Charter. The charter defines the organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities for Metro and Caltrans in the I-710 Task South Corridor Investment Plan Development process. The charter was approved by the I-710 Task Force with amendments.
Among the amendments: the Task Force has the right to amend the Charter at any future meeting. The Community Leadership Committee may offer recommendations for amendments to the Task Force for consideration at future meetings. The recommendations of the Community Leadership Committee and public input for each phase of the Task Force process will be provided to the Metro Board as part of the final report. The Task Force also voted on the three Task Force Member representatives to the new Coordinating Committee. The meeting concluded with an overview of the Vision and Goals survey.
