Join Metro’s On the Move Riders Program and the group Cyber Seniors for a series of webinars covering the TAP LA App for both iPhones and Android phones. The app lets riders use their smartphones as a TAP card — a convenient and contactless way to ride transit in Los Angeles County!
More information on the TAP LA app can be found here.
Attendees will learn how to download the TAP LA app and will get step by step instruction on how to use the app load fares on to your virtual TAP card — and to plan trips.
The TAP LA App allows riders to tap and pay for transit on many different transit systems in our region. You can dd fare to either a virtual TAP card or plastic TAP card — and then immediately use your TAP card to ride. The app supports reduced fares for seniors.

Of course, when you replace your iPhone, you can’t easily move your funds to the wallet of the new phone. It just says the funds are loaded on another device. Repeated calls to customer service are pointless.
If you’re on iPhone, you’re supposed to completely wipe and remove your iCloud account from your previous iPhone before the pass reappears on the wallet app. A simple google search and Reddit post would solve this problem instead of calling an unreliable transit agency who has no clue what you’re talking about.
I’ve had my hop (Portland) and SuiCa and PASMO cards transfer from 3 different phones so far, but you gotta completely log out of your iCloud account and wipe the previous phone in order for them to roll over. Then go to the wallet app, add transit card and add TAP and it’ll automatically recognized your previous stored card and the stored value.
