Join Metro and Caltrans for the fourth 710 Task Force Meeting on Jan. 10, 2022

Metro and Caltrans will hold the fourth meeting for the I-710 South Corridor Task Force (710 Task Force) on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This meeting will be open to the public and provide an opportunity for public comment throughout the agenda. Please note that this meeting is virtual due to the ongoing pandemic.

In the third 710 Task Force meeting, Metro announced the formation of its Community Leadership Committee (CLC) and the Executive Steering Committee (ESC). Metro also introduced its Equity Planning and Evaluation Tool (EPET), which is designed to help guide the project development process and plan for equitable outcomes for the I-710 South Corridor.

Ahead of the meeting, we invite you to view a narrated video on the I-710 South Corridor Existing Conditions (approximately 30 minutes). The video includes existing demographics, mobility options and travel characteristics, crash and collision data, and air quality and community health indicators. This will help Metro develop the next phase of the I-710 South Corridor as well as an Investment Plan that works for the residents, businesses and the people that travel through the I-710 South Corridor.

During Task Force Meeting #3, Metro introduced the Community Leadership Committee (CLC) and Executing Steering Committee (ESC). We invite you to provide input regarding the development of the CLC and ESC by January 14 via this survey. Metro will share preliminary survey results received during Task Force Meeting #4.

The 710 Task Force meeting will discuss purpose, formation and working protocols of the 710 Task Force, highlights from the existing conditions video, provide details about Senate Bill 671, known as the Clean Freight Corridor Efficiency Assessment. Additionally, during the meeting, the Project Team would like to bring the opportunity to the entire 710 Task Force to nominate the I-710 South Corridor as a collective priority and to submit a joint letter of support for this nomination to the California Transportation Commission (CTC).

The agenda and meeting materials are available on the project website.
