Upcoming enrollment events for low-income fares postponed in January due to COVID-19 surge

UPDATE, JAN. 4: to protect everyone’s health, Metro is postponing in-person enrollment events scheduled for January. You can still fill out an application online

The earlier post:

We are offering 6 months of discounted Low Income Fare Is Easy (LIFE) passes to those eligible for our low-income fares.

The prices from Jan. 10 through late July are:

$26 for a 30-day LIFE pass (regularly $76)

$6.50 for a 7-day LIFE pass (regularly $19.50).

Additionally, if you sign-up now, new LIFE riders will get 90 days of free rides starting January 10, 2022, when fare collection restarts.

Riders with a Reduced Fare TAP card can also apply for the LIFE program if they meet the income requirements, and receive additional savings on monthly passes.

To apply for the LIFE program, riders must complete an application and provide copies of a government-issued ID, proof of income (Medi-Cal, EBT, Free or Reduced Lunch, Social Security award, check stub  or tax return) and a valid TAP card.
